I also run 50:1 leverage. Not sure why such a deal is being made about it... its all part of the calculations of risk. Only thing that gets hit is stops.

if you have tight spreads

short 1.0348/49 with sl 1.0351 is the way to go here (for my style of trading anyway)

i personally dont care if they run that stop,the risk reward is solid.

like my long from 0255 with sl 0248, solid RR

plus i can always short from 1.0360/75 and easily make back a few pips loss


i know some people dont like tight stop losses but thats how i roll for most trades. investments are a different story

50:1 leverage is no big deal if you are using 5 pip stop losses. But still, that is a 2.5% loss to your account from a trade with high probability of stop out.

5:1 is the max I need

Most people are too impatient to see that 200% (3-fold January 1st equity) return per year consistently for 10 years (or 12 or 13 or whatever) will get you into that leer jet you always wanted... even if you only started with a $1000 in your account.

That is the way an advanced trader thinks - very well done. Very well thought out, you could have given your stop a little bit more room to breathe. This is an aggressive scalp but only when you know what you're doing, the time of day, the sentiment in the market the buy and sell zones, that you GO for it.

Its a greedy trade, very do able. Again you are robbing yourself of the exercise to practice patience, but some traders love the dare

The buy zone starts from 1.0270 up to 1.0320

I am very impressed with how you explained yourself just now.

I personally wouldn't have taken the trade, but its a scalp and sometimes in times like these you make trades like that to kill the boredom. I feel you.

Lot size and pip risk is adjusted. I never risk more than 3% of my account on any single one trade. And I always have a minimum r:r of 1:1. But that is rare. I prefer 1:2 and more often then not am aiming around the 1:4-1:5 area.

It's just math, and over time the numbers end up positive.

maybe we talk about leverage in a different way. some people use 400:1 leverage for a small lot size. the money used for the lot actually is margin. what the total money the lot control relative to account size is the real leverage.

for example you can spend 200 to control 10000, your margin is 200. if your account size is 10000, then your leverage is 1:1.

yup. they have stop entries for profits right near the their stops for protection. which is why the market spikes so hard through breakouts

that means put a stop 1.5x or 2x the size of original position to catch a few quick pips.
