it looks like cable got rejected nicely. cable meets strong resistance for couple of days.

yes, you have to pick the right spot of course. but realizing when a position is not working, then flipping it and going in the opposite direction requires a lot of courage, and markets tend to reward that. imo hes doing the right thing.

The trend is relative to what TF you're personally watching..every trade you take I can show you a trend the other way in some other market/instrument if not the same pair on a different TF.

The best DO pick the "top/bottom" or get really close. From my experience anyway.

There are fundamental events such as the other member just mentioned..downgrade of Germany. Then the dollar bulls are back and ST trend changes..but when does it happen? What leads up to it?
What happened in Spain this week that causes Germany to get DG'd next week? What is the dollar doing against other currencies at the same moment?

There's a lot more to this stuff than listen to Gator or some member with 10 vouchers. They are watching far more (or less) that influences their decision and their risk tolerance/emotions will be different from yours or mine.

I agree with every point you made, absolutely.

Now for the thread.. I'm looking at this last move and it's just not right on many levels.. I mean, the Market is always right.. what I'm saying is, something's up.. it should have dropped before going higher.. from PA from technical, fundamental pov. So everyone should have their guard up..

Absolutely, I did not intend to come across in a hostile matter whatsoever. It does take balls to pull the trigger is my point but you have to use reasoning to confirm that you're not acting on impulse.

edit: also, this last week I've been posting from work and watching charts on my phone and finviz.com for quick stuff. Will definitely sit down and post some charts that I watch this Sunday/Monday when I get to sit down at home computer. I use simple fibs though and big round numbers. Not rocket science..the middles of large moves and big round numbers seem to come back again and again. This is over a period of about 4 years..wish I could have watched live since the beginning but time helps as I watch more and more.

edit again: Yes, guard up..we are at a crossroads and a lot of people are going to get run over or left behind in my opinion. I may set up triggers below but not above. Still careful buying the Euro for me..I'd prefer to be long dollar in the grand scheme of things and will still look to build shorts on the way up as I said 2 weeks ago before I took the 25% loss trade. My plan has not changed

im not saying you going long is wrong. but you need carefully pick the entry point. you already lost 25% for 2500$ of your account. you just got stopped out for another 23 pips, and you immediately flipped to long around a place of resistance. that is not wise.

Hello everyone....

Been reading the thread today and opinions are just like arseholes....we all have one.

One thing that I have not seen one person write about and is something that I am considering is what is the affect of the Detroit Bankruptcy going to have on the markets.....

I have read that Commerzbank fell as much as 4.7% due to it's exposure to Detroit.....

That Detroit story is just starting......they are 18 billion in debt......lots of world banks of lent them money....

How long did the build-up of Greece-shit-hitting-the-fan take back then? The Commerzbank is in deep trouble for quite some time now, even more so since they bundled the shares 10:1 suddenly finding themselves at a per-share-value of 0.60ish euro-cents from 1.62ish in January (all these values are in Euros).
I don't know about the impact of Detroit alone, but the shit trickles silently at the moment. Over here, that's not unexoected with September-elections being close.
