Since we are talking trillions of trades on the currency market daily, a broker (or as you call it--market maker) is nothing more than a fart in the wind when it comes to influence, we are forced to look at what central banks do and if any change in policy for price action. Any Central Bank with their substantial reserves on most currency can and will counteract any action. For example, some CB's will strive hard to keep the currency at a low value in order to stimulate their economy. As I understand it, reserves are used as a counterbalance to prevent huge price fluctuations. Of course, central banks can be manipulative--as brokers--however most CB's strive for monetary balance since it is in the economic interest to do so.

I don't know how brokers can manipulate the market. They can arbitrage but that is a high risk game and still does not affect the market one iota. Brokers make gobs of money on that little tiny commission they tag to every order.

Some people, particularly on this post are very good at positioning and set their lot size accordingly. I am not one those who are at that skill level so I do the next best thing, I position average my play. It's like dollar cost averaging when investing in the market. I do from 2 to 10 positions in a quest to find a bottom or top and usually for the most part, I'm in the green after all the dust settles. It works pretty good if you don't over position.

this turd called euro now stuck in a small range 3150 - 3250 (well 100 pips are not small for some people). it needs to break the range to go either side. break above 3250, it is north bound. break below 3150, it will go south deeper.
