Soon or later you will loose all your money by using a martingale scheme ... doesn't matter the strategy.

Thanks. I must be patient because i know it works for FIRST test, this is my 2nd profitable EA. I am no choice to share this out because i cannot figure out what wrong with the result, and i have no time now because of my another project. For this EA, i compare the latest test result with the previous backtesting result, both have the same output, i mean both have the same entry and exit logic, but the price is not tally for both.

It is true. I experiment this and have tested thousand of EA before, i know it won't work forever even it has been tweaked. But recently i find out and understand how to control the risk, i got to draw the structure, code and make hypothesis test before make a conclusion.

I think a lot of strategies work, but :

1- People are too greedy. If you count on statistics, you now it applies only to a big number of trades. So want to be rich in ten trades ? Don't count on statistics.

2- Money management is bad.

Three points to resolve :

- Strategy
- Risk / reward
- Money management

You are right! There is no such things to become a millionaires in one night.

Below are my sharing for a profitable system. It categorize into...
1. Entry exit system: Either is reference or precision
2. Trade management system: Many type of model to product RR in 1.0 to unlimited value.
3. Game management system: Risk control for respective system
4. Quality management system: To avoid low quality trade and search for best point.
5. Portfolio management system: To allocate and diversify a basket of pairs

Each parts of the system have their deep studies, and also it has their rating as well. Basically a system doesn't work for just a basic or common setup, it need to deep inside. So far for all the EA i publish here except my personal EA, it doesn't work. What i mean is one day will blow your account.

What hurts me is anytime i see an count blowing up: i am thinking "It is so stupid ! if i was only flipping a coin with right money management and IF the market is at least pseudo-random, i would have done that FAR BETTER !"

IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO MAKE BETTER THAN FLIPPING A COIN ? That question hurts me !

So the whole strategy must be based, from my point of view, on really viable principles, logicial and mathematical - i include geometry in mathematics, what elsewhere you can read as "having an edge", without thinking at any indicator, or anything else. Then build the code that helps to detect keys things in the strategy and it will work as expected. Never try to "fit" an indicator in your ideas.

The most educated you are (math, logic, software programming, psychology...), the most probable you will be profitable. Read everything !

And if this is a game, probably we have to better know who are our opponents. Banks ? Hedge funds ? Brokers ? ...

On a long term basis, i would say try it without any martingale. I see your lots are increasing and drecreasing when you lose.

Retest with a simple constant lot size. And why not after 2008 ?

Is it averaging a losing position ?

Like martingale, you always have a case that will blow your account (long trend without come back).

Typically the problem because you don't know the risk...

REWARD IS NEVER A PROBLEM : EITHER 10 PIPS, OR 1000 PIPS, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE HAPPY !

The backtest result you saw is with martingale. I have tried without martingale, it is the same equity curve. I have done some analysis for the system, so there is a reason that it can be applied martingale method. The different is just the final return is more or less.

I think it can be improved, and the RR need to be controlled, in order to have positive value. Maybe i have to change exit rule.

No comment of whether have to backtest after year 2008. I just stop there.

Good to point out that a martingale doesn't change your winning expectancy but "martingale" is not just doubling the lot size each time you lose. It can help enhance winners.

BUT the strategy must be profitable FIRST WITHOUT MARTINGALE.

Martingale is only one momey management style. You can imagine ALL types of money management.

Doesn't mater the martingale type, doesn't mater the lot size multiplier ... Any kind of martingale will give you the exact same final result.

The only case a martingale survive is if you have unlimited funds.

Are you requesting here on FF to do something illegal ?

Anyway, the new MT4 builds don't allow to run tool from decompiled version.

Any day when you will experience a very long losing streak (that will happen soon or later) ...

There's a lot of threads here on FF discussing about this. Not a single martingale survive in the long term.

My personal EA.

Backtest results from 1 jan 2013. Before that i am very innacurate : no tick data.

Live for two months. Same results (less lot sizes).

AS you can see, tick data is not accurate before around 3 months.

MT4 uses M1 then M5, then M15, etc... The data is less and less accurate when you go far in the past. So i can't test it further in the past. But looking closely in the past i can see the errors the tester makes. In fact i should have a running script to record every tick. But needs a VPS, costs money, ...

Code uses MACD and MA.
