After the spike up, this has been a usual $$ strength move. Moving in a choppy boring fashion down with occasional spikes to tempt longs, stand aside time and don't take part in the BS games

You can take part when you see often enough. It's typical of the euro. Similar movement a week before the June FOMC and now the BoJ.

yeah w/o 2742 it will remain. the cad aud gbp ect. have very bearish targets.. looking at the usdx, a big bull is coming. so far this move is all inside. using the usd we still have drop room for the usd w/o a void. i have taken some cad profit to cover my s/l .. still usd bullish until oil in the ez is above u.s. production % wise.

Well, I've been tempted into a small short by the current PA. But I'm focusing on options as the way forward, last night was too good a opportunity to miss so I took long positions. But options mean you don't get stopped out by the whipsaw, looking like my preferred way forward.

What kind of options? Equity options or forex options?

FX options, currently testing on demo and its looking good so far. Less involvement than trading lots and you don't get stopped out

By all means. If you can recognize it, you can turn profit. To be very honest, if I thought 400 pips was on the books I'd be full of it. However, the cycles are the same. I took some shorts earlier at 1.3104, 1.3072 and 1.3034 closed on 1.301. Flat currently. I didn't even feck with it yesterday.

I like to trade euro future options. Very flexible.

Important EUR Update

Dont trade within the next few days, since market is extremely unpredictable. Here are the details:

Right now is a real tricky time to go either short or long. Cant over emphasize this. The explanation below will help to shed some more light on the situation.


Weekly Time Frame

We are at the Grey region of the blue circle. This means more uncertainty. From the looks of the square region shown on the lower time frames we could be in the middle of a triangle. This triangle has not completed and there are legs C, D, and E waiting to be completed.


If this theory is correct, which at this point of time is too early to say, then we have a huge upward thrust that can go as high as 4700/4800 on the red circle.

Now the other thing that is happening right now is that the agitation in the square region of the chart shown is very reminicent of situations where the perimeter of a circle gets broken and the upward limitation of a movement has been reached, the only difference here is that we have nested circles for support, but price obeying the resistance regions of the blue circle.

Now on top of that we have another important phenomenon that looks like its taking shape and that is the "Barrel Roll" phenomenon, where the third barrel, which is yet to come is going to be followed by a "HUGE SPIKE DOWNWARDS".

This is a very scary situation, but for the next 7-10 days it wont happen as easily as described above, since the market needs some time to stabalize itself and decide on a direction. This is more of a longer term outlook, but a very important piece of the puzzle to keep in mind.

In the next few weeks, the more that we stay within the 3200 to 3000 zone, the higher will be the possibility of a huge spike down. The sooner that we get to 3400 and maintain a region between 3150 and 3400, the higher will be the probability of a rise towards 4700.

The size of the downward spike, if it happens is quite heavy and will clear all the lows made since 2008 in a very very short time.

That is why I am giving early warning signs of staying out for few days to see what happens.

zzzzz whoever is controling these markets do an amazing job of leaving it hanging in the balance. Feels bearish but why hasnt 13000 broken ? or even tested ? i imagine 13000 must be coming

I like the flexibility, due to work becoming busier the time I can spend trading is reduced. Options is much less time intensive, early days but we'll see how it goes. The other good thing is you know from the start the max possible loss

Good metaphor. Plankton with delusions of grandeur are doomed. I always include the big money banks in my dreams. That makes it a very big if. If there where ever enough plankton in the sea to overwhelm the Whales, no one would survive.
For now, my other pairs appear to be headed back to their quarters so I can't trade them
The eur/usd is hanging around the 38.2 fibo and must break lower for me to enter a sell. My guess is it's going up to challenge the 480 ma then the previous highs, but I have no confidence in this at this time either. This is frequently a good time of day to make money, so I will stay alert.
As my ex- wife used to say to me, size isn't everything.....
