Seriously though, tapering has nothing to do with calendar and has everything to do with econ data. Data has lost its momentum and is somewhat mixed and flattened out at OK levels, i guess. I wonder if that's enough for the FED. Or do they need a good 200+ jobs before they pull the FIRST plug. They need to tame the 10y note beast too, ya know

Fed is going to get trapped in a cycle of easing when their "goals" aren't met and that's when the usd is going to get really slaughtered.

But that's a ways down the road. The green back rally has a looong way to go still, this is only the beginning of wave 3.

Yes I agree it's all about data, but that data also includes CPI. The Fed does not want runaway inflation. It can get very out of hand very quickly, so BB's announcement at the last press conference was designed to taper the market before they taper the asset purchases.

Yep... and also the beginning of wave 3 down for the E/U. Last year's low was wave 1 and this year's high was wave 2. Brace yourselves.

So long as banks don't lend much of that enormous pile of cash sitting in their reserves, there's no velocity of money. And with the 10 year breaking out, higher lending rates are only going to slow it further. Inflation isn't an issue at the moment, imo.

Agreed that inflation is not an issue right now, but my point is that if it starts to become an issue, it will progress rapidly and can get out of control if the Fed is not careful. Remember there is over 3 trillion of accommodation out there.

I'm still Bullish on US Stocks. Infact they may start increase interest rates.

I agree could see 108 or 110 even but only if the FED tapers
