..... the 1Hr stoch saved me from taking an AU short .... everything almost checks out apart from the 1Hr stoch which is indicating a long....

Yes I'm seeing it Well I'm only taking a short if I see a m15 arrow... so far I can't see anything worthwhile.. H1 stoch CAN return to OS, while price is driven down, that's not exactly what's keeping me from entering... It's DS1 being so close that's scaring me out of any trades...

Is there any reason/experience for taking mtf30 as the lower timeframe? (very close to mtf15: 2:1; less additional info)
Would 1h not makes more sense?

Good for you.. that was also my target but I got stopped out ages ago :/ anyway nice that you held onto it which makes me wonder, where the hell was your SL at, so that you didnt get sl'd at the news spike...?

Well using that logic, I may as well use the H4 stoch and that way I'll get even more info!!!

There seems to be a bit of a 'feeding frenzy' going here about the H1 stoch....but how many here have actually tested this for any length of time? I know Marty uses it and tonight I see that lastingwell uses it, but to me, it is untested.

The whole reason we began using the M15 stoch on the M5 chart is because previously, the H1 was used on the M5....creating 60-5 method......not here, but on the Symphonie thread. When we came up with the 15-5 method, we realised that in anything other than a strong trend the 60 -5 method would slaughter the trader because the difference was too great between 5 and 60. The closest was the 15 so we used that......and you can read all about it in the PDF that Wiz3003 published on the subject.

So....I am simply applying the same logic that we used previously......that being that the M30 is the next available TF to use. It could be that the H1 is better......but I will never know if I don't test it to find out! So.....I'm testing the M30 with the M15 and after 4 weeks I will know the answer. Then I will do it again with the H1. That is the way we arrive at the best settings......not by blind faith!!

Just before I started typing this I entered 2 trades, one on EU and one on EA.....I'll post the charts in a moment.

I entered at 1.3060 (and there was no news???) red vertical line and out at green vertical line. SL 1.31142

EU close for +28

EA closed at +76 as it can't break the daily low....and I want the 76 in my pocket.

To me it's like this, the h1 stoch stays OB longer, because it takes more time and a bigger move to create an hourly trend... My interpretation of the 5-60 method is to just trade in the direction of the hourly trend...and to avoid the pair simply if the move is sideways and not up or down. No hourly stochs involved. Just 5 and 15. However I did notice lately, that whenever I am re-entering based on m5+m15 (the way genesis is meant to be traded), sometimes h1 is already moving out of the extremities... So technically I am going counter the new trend...

If you look at my EA trade, all three stox were falling from OB... then when it reached my target, the move died down a little, but the hourly stoch was still falling... A few hours later, there was a pullback to the daily pivot and then a drop to the daily support... I personally am beginning to acknowledge the use of h1 stochs as an addition to the regular 5-15 method... Just for some of those trades.

It is still way more important to me to actually get an arrow on m15... Because when I carefully analyse my charts, I can see MTF arrows and all signals going opposite of the arrows have been fakeys. So it should be enough to trade with m15...

I know exactly what you mean but I have forward tested the H1 stoch, backtested it....even sideways tested it lol and I would rather use that than anything else. I don't use the arrows from H1 because I find them too slow but the stoch is very quick to react.

As I just said....we have been right through the 60 - 5 method in the symphonie thread. Yelena is the originator of that method.....not Evaluator as he will tell you. We have been blessed by good trends this year, and the 60 - 5 method would be fine.....but....in anything other than a strong trend....as I just said....the trader will get slaughtered. Olivia, Cody, Wiz3003 and I have spent considerable time testing this......4 moths worth of testing in fact.

I'm not saying that it doesn't work.....I am saying that in anything other than a strong trend, the difference between 60 and 5 is too great and the trader will lose.
