Patience is what you need.
Gann HiLo is a great help especially on the higher time frames. 1 hour and up. Look back period 10 to 15 or both.
MACD is also a great help if you use it the way it's supposed to be used.

Go for the longer time frames, forget the 5 minute chart and you will come out a winner.

Search for Auslanco and you'll have thousands of pages of reading material of the best quality.
Also buy the e-book Bird Watching in Lions Country.
Read it, read it and read it again.
