Ok Jamz.....lets say that your account balance before you took that trade was $2k. You entered the trade for all the right reasons and you suffered very little drawdown.....a perfect entry.

The PA moved as expected and soon you had your SL at BE (I assume) so from here on you cannot lose......it's simply impossible to lose. No matter what happens, you will come out of this trade with at least $2,001, no?

So don't too hasty to manually trail your SL. When the PA is marching on down to R1 which must have been your target, give it room to breath. Remember....you cannot lose...it's impossible!!

You only need to trail your SL so close if the PA is running out of steam, and it will take several candles to see that...or else the PA has reached the target.......and in that case, bring your SL down to +80 and see if it's going to have a crack at R2.

After the SL is at BE...you can not lose.....you have already won.....you can not lose....you have already won.....

I always wait for a fresh Genesis signal before re-entering because I've been caught out too many times before.

If you feel uneasy on EA....and I don't blame you if that's the case....trade something smoother instead. Check out EA for instance....

Thanks RJ you're right. Protection of capital. I even surprised myself how nervous I got entering that trade.
Thanks to my reading up everything in sight I also know you are right not to take profit 1, profit 2, profit 3 etc, etc as over time this erodes a fine lump of gains you could have been taking by following thru with the whole lot. Your intuition has been right there.

Targets if I have any fingernails left are pivots which I love as best indicators can be.....yes.....

Who knows why the market behaves as it does. RJ is always going on about being wary taking trades during Frankie and this is the result. We thought EU would retrace and resume its long but it has decided otherwise.... I'm looking at AU which has the right type of stochs.
Just trust Genesis.

The only reason I don't look at EA is that lately it has been moving at nighttime for me, just like AU. And by the time I get in front of my screens, it's already ranging or worse, flatlining.

That's really helpful

The toughest part of trading is the exits. I've noticed that pivots seem to be the best targets when PA is sentiment/fundamentally driven (and, pretty sure I've read it somewhere in this thread months ago) which is not the case 24 hours 5 days of the week, 20 days a month...
It's hard to pick the right target for your trade when you're still new and inexperienced. I try to spot historical levels on higher tfs for when market is choppy-ish, but sometimes my chart gets so cluttered that I am afraid to take a trade and I watch as price shreds thru all the levels up-down, left-right... Sometimes I pick the wrong target and PA turns on me halfway or worse, because it's reached some S/R that I have not noted. Still a lot to learn, sadly.

And it sure as hell seemed easy as pie bagging pips back on demo, unlike now where it's only easy in hindsight

Stochs are amazing for judging what PA is about to do aren't they?
When they come up or down too quickly you know something is up.

Guess its not ready to go down, thank goodness for genesis.

If you look back, it made more sense for EU to drop than to actually keep rallying, in view of what we talked about earlier - that there is no apparent reason for euro to be this high. At the same time the HH+HL + the seemingly unobstructed path to DR1 is what made me be irrational about the situation.

Like right now on AU? M15 is still giving OB readings while M5 descended i never take those trades, even if sometimes they end up being okay.

The key word being "apparent".......there will be a reason for it, we just don't know what it is. That's the reason that I don't put too much weight into fundamentals....we only ever get half the facts, and most of the time they are late!!

The reason I'm a bit shy on EU is not that it may be too high, it is because it is still stuck in this stupid range by some outside force, and that makes it very hard to trade. So I look for other opportunities on other pairs. When the proper natural order returns to EU, then so will I, but in the meantime, I am very reluctant to trade it because there are better trades elsewhere.

Yes you're right. I'd anticipated a long on AU but saw the stochs come up too quick and as you rightly point out the 15, 30 and 1 Hr are on OB.... though ....as we all know the stochs could stay there a good while. What we need is maybe a good stoch starting from the OS on the 5 Min chart to catch up with the other timeframes.

Still there was a lot of money to be made if one just follows the genesis setup. I can see two good setups on EU for the past 3 hours or so, where both m5 and m15 stoch were climbing/falling together, simultaneously. Both those trades would have yielded at least 20 pips each.

What I actually meant was, after price rejected DR1, M5 stoch started to fall, but m15 stood in OB territory. A short matrix signal never showed and price is headed towards DR1 (maybe) once again.

For sure......I just find other pairs easier to trade at the moment. GU is at the bottom of my list....as always, and EU is only one step higher.....for now

What you're contemplating is a CT trade. The PA has risen 120 pips more or less, and whilst the AU trend is definitely bearish, I would still want to see a very solid signal, including both stochs in agreement before I would consider shorting into such a bull run.

The PA may well turn bearish and continue the trend, but the AU has dropped 1,100 pips more or less in a straight line.....there's going to be a decent pull back/correction at some stage......
