Hello guys. Just caught up on all post since yesterday evening. I have seen a couple of posters with not such successful trades, even though they THINK they are trading with the higher TF trend. You must realize that after yesterday's very bearish run on most pairs, there would have needed to be some kind of a retrace. The retraces can be best evaluated using the hourly TF stochastics. Once Stochastics reaches it retrace extremes OB/OS, then IMO, one can start looking for trade setups again using the lower TF(per genesis rules) to pull the trigger in the direction of trend again. The main trend is the daily/weekly. The hourly is used to measure the retrace or alignment with the trend. You can't just automatically pull the trigger every time you see an alignment of your matrix with the (daily/weekly). You must align the hourly with the daily and weekly. This is the method of trading using higher TF. Of course if you just want to scalp and pull trigger on every scalp then this doesn't pertain to that trading style. Scalping is a different animal. Hope this is understandable. Happy trading today.

The weekly - Is the Tide

Looking at the calendar I see that that idiot Draghi is going to be yappin later....it's too early for me though, I'll be sleeping. All is not lost though because BOJ Gov Kuroda will have his yappin session while I'm around in the afternoon......so everyone gets a yappin session from the idiots and muppets!!!

USA news in 25 minutes.....

Well Tokyo open is mid day for me, but I can't always trade that session as life tends to get in the way! Frankie is 6pm and London 7pm. NY is midnight. So on a good day I can trade Tokyo all the way to 2am, which is 2 hours into NY....or 3am if need be. Most days I can trade at least some of Tokyo, plus Frankie, London and NY until 2am-ish

I think I need to move to NZ. That is the best times to trade IMO. Long day for you though.

When daylight saving kicks in (and out) it makes a difference. Tokyo is then 1pm, Frankie 8pm, London 9pm and NY 2am. So that kinda kills NY for me, and even news like unemployment or NFP is at 2.30am. Other news is just out of reach. So it's 'swings and roundabouts'.......

Just wanted to ask why you prefer using Stoch-MTF over #MTFStochastic. With the same settings Stoch-MTF works slower. I guess it's better not to clutter this thread with such questions.

Most of the time NY just ranges after the first two hours anyways. It slices, dices and kills the average retail traders. You're not missing anything. IMO, your trading time it most optimal for a full time trader.
