wow. lots of after the move advice today. people who were long and buying dips at 3700 + or waiting for 3241 +.. now making comment about some guy losing 36 (8+8+20) pips this week on 3 trades. and when the 75 pip moves happened counter to them, they were silent. the funny thing is after being here a while, i have never saw a specific entry from them. only a close in profit. that's good trading when you get it.

Looks solid, fontu.. nice input. Wish you a great weekend, too. Looks like we're seeing pretty much the same things.. I have a very similar main scenario constructed, myself.. myriad of factors coming together down there, so will be interesting to see how it gets treated.

Well, I said I do no use them as a definitive indicator, but I know a trader that use it mixing with another indicators. Get for example a wide map from the EUR/USD. Daily, for example. Look all the times that a candel breaks the daily Bollinger Bands, confirmed break, I mean, the close is out of Bollinger Band. Look the next day,and for example, if the break is bullish,next candle is green.
I am not saying, that on Monday,sure, the candle will be red,because I know there are more indicators. I bear in mind this, in order to check it out on Tuesday.

As far as I know, Bollinger Bands, measures the volatibility for each frame, wider it is, more volatibility you have. When a candle breaks a Bollinger (confirmed) the market accelerates itself.
Look at the daily,from 11th september, to 14th september 2012. Is this an overbuyed market?? Nearly 400 pips in one direction. Or you can see recently the daily market in US/JPY, you will find more examples.

I understand. I start on 15M/1H. I would get a "buy" and get smashed longterm because 4H/1D/WK would be sell all the way. Takes time, but try to not trade unless larger TFs tell you to.

I mean think that you could take the risk pips of 3-4 trades and just place one more accurate one and hold it. I'll take 100 pip risk for a 4-500 pip payoff all day, even if it takes a week or two to close. Can always add or cut legs if need be.

Just practice. If you like intraday charts, at least analyze dailys IMO

Ambar I don't want to argue, as I always point out I'm a newbie, just pointed what Bollinger said. I know what you mean by those runaways over above and below lower, I used to use indicators, pivots, ma crosses ect. THEY ALL LAG ... still I note them in the background. Charts are full of examples of false moves, even confirmed false moves 14.05.2013 00:15 (or close to this) M15.

Atilla i just figured why and when spx and EU are out of sync. Good point dude...very good.
