Do you know if there is the possibility to aumatically refresh a Renko chart?

When I go sleep I'd like that the expert does this by itself, to avoid the connection problems.

First, you will have to download this indicator.

Open it with MetaEditor, compile it, then you will be able to add it to a chart.

Now on your Renko chart, add the Line Chart Closes.mq4 indicator to your chart from your list of custom indicators. If you haven't already, change your chart to a line chart.

Now Right click on a blank space on your chart and click properties (or hit F8). Under the color tab you will see lots of options to change the colors. Change the "Line Graph" color to "None". Then click OK. Now you have a chart with just the dots for the closes like in the attachment.

Hi everybody,

I using renko charts with RenkoLiveChart 3.2 EA several years but today

I found some serious bug in RenkoLiveChart 3.2 EA.

See pictures.

As you see RenkoLiveChart 3.2 EA not correctly transform bars from 1M TF data.

On 1MTF High is 1.30869 but on renko chart High is 1.30850 and this is not correct.
Is missing wick on next bar or ....

Can someone of the authors or better coder when me check this and try to find the solution, please?

its even worse than that. íf i open a 2pip , 10pip and 25pip-chart sometimes i have 3 different values for a high/low.
does anyone have the commercial EA and tell us : same problem or not?

before i use the highs/lows as a stop i always check for the real value in a 1min or 60 min chart.

I use a commercial renko but honestly I haven't notice the detail you mention in mine .
The whole purpose of renko is to see the charts in a different way.

If you need the exact low or high on pivots point then you probably need to have a time frame chart open also.

The important part of the renko would be that the price did not have the strength to print the next bar up.
Yest, should be a wig there, but that could be many things, including a big spread at the peak.

I believe there is already a renkolive v 3.4 around that you can try.

I've seen that bug before, it was discussed maybe a year ago or so in this thread. I think Lou G did some work in v3.3 that may at least partly solve the problem (it only happens when the historical M1 bars are much bigger than the Renko box size, and never when we process bars "live").

To completely fix it the complete logic need to be rewritten... It's not a trivial bug to fix. (It has it's origin in the fact that wicks was add more or less as an afterthought, v1.0 did not have wicks at al.)

I may fix it some day, but don't hold your breath as I don't trade Renko any longer my self.

Maybe you are not taking Renko Box size in your math, if it is for example "20 pips" I could say is Ok, but in your favor EA could be more precise to show a Wick in edges maybe. Hope this Helped you

Hello Ovo,

I downloaded your Mean Renko Indicator to give it a try. I was curious about why some of the Renko bars didn't finish before plotting a new one but I figured out that it was because of the new session setting. But, I now see another problem. It is leaving out data, big gaps of it. I plotted the MeanRenko_e indicator on the AudUsd 1Hr chart since you state it doesn't matter what time frame the indicator is posted on and starting looking at the M2 renko chart it created. I noticed that some periods of data are being left out. If you watch the OvoRenkoError animated gif carefully (click it to enlarge it then it will be animated) you will notice that the dates from one bar to the next was from Jan.28 2013 to March 25. 2013. Check out the images below for the settings and the error.

Hello Satchfan, yes, if the session is enabled, then its last candle is unfinished and a new one may start with a gap. That is correct behaviour.

The other problem with missing history data. I am facing this problem after the very fresh builds of the MT4 appeared. The current bunch of the builds do not fetch the history files in the way the previous versions did. I noticed this ill behaviour about a week ago and I am working on a solution that should make the indicator reliable, without using a workaround.
The immediate (and temporary) fix is forcing a history refresh manually - by right clicking the symbol chart and selecting a Refresh, from M1 to W1. The good news is doing that once is satisfactory (at least it seems so). The ill news is that I spotted even the regular charts having corrupted data unless I wiped out their .hst files.

I will integrate some kind of fix to all the indicators a.s.a.p., hopefully in a week.

My apologies, I forgot to mention I was using build 451. I have other things to do today, but I will try your suggestions later today or tonight.

Then the 451 should be easy- restarting the terminal will very probably fix it.

Ovo,
Restarting the terminal did not fix it. The data is there in the 1hr chart but the renko chart isn't rendering correctly.

Are there any issues with your indi not handling live data correctly? This is the most important thing, with past data handling being second.
I hope you can find the solution soon.

There are not issues with live data I would know of.

The history issue is kind of unique. The history model is completely taken from the RangeBars indicator, which has been running for two years and (unlike the Renko) it is widely spread. If you are willing I will kindly ask you for assistance and send you instruction how to switch on the log.
