Thank you very much for the explanation. Personally I fill much more comfortable trading in TF15, much less stress. And if the trend confirmed by 1H or higher is strong the probabilities of success are also higher.

As you said correctly comparing higher TF in order to avoid the market noise. Maybe I'm not going to get the same number of pips, but the % of winner trades will be higher.
And in the statistics of the instructions, the results are better over 15MTF. But all depend of each personal style.
When there is a strong trend practically doesn't matter if it's 1M, 5M, 15M or other. But when the market direction (not the trend) is changing every few time. Personally rather to get more secure trades, although with less pips.
If I'm wrong, just tell it me.

From what I have read, the profitability for TFs, are generally like this:

The higher the TF; win/loss ratio is usually lower, but average winners is usually higher, ie your RR is is higher.

To take it to the extreme, M1 scalpers can trade below RR of 1:1, but need very high win/loss ratios, with loads of small pips wins, because losses will have a significant impact.

Swing traders, ie those holding trades for a few days, will get stopped out a lot, but when they get a big winner it can be 500 pips or more.

My old coach (of a few years ago), who was a swing trader, always talked about a trade he made during the early part of the financial crises when he made £80k

But I repeat whatever TF you choose, you need a "timing" TF and a "trend" TF. Choosing just 1 TF limits your understanding of what the market is doing.

There's a very good trading system that was created by wiz3000 that may be of some help to you. Its in the first page.
Its called 5-15 Genesis Strategy. It'll put you on the right side of most of the trades

I agree, I used to check H4 2 or 3 times a day. Now very rarely; if H1,M15 & M5 agree you have a decent trade.

But I do look at it once a day, in ther morning when I open metatrader.

That is going to provide the vast majority of your bread and butter trades.

Plus you can usually tell from PA whether H1 is going with H4/D1 trend.

If its choppy its counter-trend, if its strong its probably with H4/D1 trend; I dont need another chart to tell me that.

I've had about 5 friends (or friends of friends) that I have tried to coach, once they get a little knowledge they try to go they own way, only to fail again and again.

Usually the problem is over-complicating and constantly changing their system, and of course the old chestnut, not putting in enough screen-time !!

Plus failing to do what I said earlier, that you cant trade on 1 TF, they think by adding indies with stronger settings, that can compensate.

I put the Genesis arrow matrix on my M5 chart (above Genesis matrix)

I have H1 & H4 TFs on the arrow matrix, when they are the same colour - NEVER TRADE AGAINST THEM !!
