the question is when will this manipulation stop....how far down before the blast off.... Posted April 10th, 2013 by Jim Sinclair

This current drop (if that's the manipulation Sinclair is assuming is) I don't think it is manipulation. It's plain old maths. (Well its my understanding of it anyway)

Listening to CNBC this morning, the Yen is in trouble and every man and his dog in Japan is throwing away their currency buying commodities such as gold XAU/JPY. Apparently the XAU/JPY (I never knew such pair existed) is Sky rocketing due to purchase of gold up against a weakening yen. Look at all the Yen paired currency to see how bad the Yen is going.

Now how does this effect our pair XAU/USD?
Due to the depreciation of the Yen the Usd is now worth more, so therefore you can get more gold with the USD.
I hope this makes sense.

You are trying to say that the dollar is rising faster than gold, therefore gold is depreciating. I can kinda see you point i guess

But gold and silver is highly manipulated to the short side, but atleast it gives u a chance to go long on the dips

Yes.

At the moment, if we see weakening in the Usd (which is what we are trading up against the gold) we should see XAU/USD Climb.

I would have expected a spillover effect for gold to go up against ALL currencies but since its been made into paper this is not the case. For example lets assume paper gold market did not exist, then the Japanese would have to get rid of their yens and go buy physical gold, given the limited quantity of physical available it would put upward pressure on the physical itself as it would remove supply from the market. but unfortunately this is not the case.

XAU JPY went up 9.5% after BOJ anouncement !!!
UUSD JPY wet up 7.4% after the BOJ anouncement
and XAUUSD went up 2.8% After BOJ and NFP so more or less they are in tandem

those percentages calculated from right before the anouncement to maximum level reached.

hence the goldman sachs manipulation.....currently paper gold short is winning.
japan is buying everything else other than thier currency....hence again the rise of euro.
i would not believe too much of what cnbc says, they are part of the media manipulation...now hopefully when we trade and make tons of cash, that our accounts are safe and won't get stolen by new government rulings that will cut the amount in half....

btw nice conversation guys....

So, let's make conclusion. Yesterdays bearish dynamics:

- Cyprus gold short;
- FOMC minutes;
- Goldmans forecast.

Cyprus has already denied. So we have rest two, additionally todays better than expected
and better than last one unemployment claims. In such case USD will gain power, while make
another highs vs. JPY and lows vs. XAU.

For today, it is logical to be bearish. Can't see anything on bullish side.

Crisis-hit Cyprus will be forced to find an extra €6bn (£5.1bn) to contribute to its own bailout under leaked updated plans for the rescue. In total, the bill for the bailout has risen to €23bn, from an original estimate of €17bn, less than a month after the deal was agreed – and the entire extra cost will be imposed on Nicosia. Cyprus's politicians had already faced intense domestic political pressure for agreeing to impose hefty losses on savers at two struggling banks in order to fulfil its eurozone partners' demands of contributing €7bn. But after a more detailed "debt ... (full story)
