... and buying what? Both USD and EUR were being bought against the YEN.... but EUR is favoured more than USD. Is that what you mean?
The recent rallies have been during ASIA Close/London Open and just after 7AM New York.

Does this explain why UY flattened out compared to EU and EY?

Looks like EJ is going for 130.90 'ties with another at 130.72, so a bit of an oscillation (maybe with NY opening) is very probable..

Possable trend changes

I posted yesterday about the MA on the EUR/USD and compared it to USD/CHF and GBP/USD

I use the 9 day MA (Blue) and 18 day MA(Red)
I use this to try and identify new trend swings.

In tha charts attached youl see that EUR/USD 9 and 18 day moving avrges are BOTH up for the first time since Feb 01
GBP/USD are up for the first time since Jan 02 and USD/CHF since Feb 01

This is rare that the 9 and 18 day ma are both up or down and most of the time means a new trend is developing.

On the setup day buy in on the positions is on the CLOSE and open of the next dayof the day that both the MA are up or down with a max SL of 100 pips or the previous days low wich ever is lower.

With this I aim to take 100-300 pips usualy

And take profit is calculated buy taking the MA af the last 5 days including setup day devide by 5 and add it to your open rate on the open where you bought in.

My initial TP was calculated as follows ( based on 5 day MA ) EUR/USD 1.3162 GBP/USD 1.5464 USD/CHF 0.9252
After that I follow the trade with a trailing stop los at the lowest low (LL) of the last 3 days.

If theres anyone that differs or have an correction fr me im open for any critisism

from my opinion, i've got a different story. They push euro a little bit up, to sell more euro. there is a limited possibility for euro to reach 1.3300 again during this month (may be the possibility is only 5%). This moment will give a chance for investors to sell more euro and change it to any other currencies. they are still bearish for EU conditions

without any doubt since the first history of FF created that eurusd thread so popular than other threads because the member like him,every thread need a balance between positive and negative,Unfortunately too many people who are trying act like a pro always make hard with those members,for me as long there is no promotion contained on their post,every members should have a freedom of speech/post

I did remember your charts from yesterday. Loving the fact that you're the first I've seen to use lower MAs on the Daily.
There's been some previous discussion of MAs being lagging... duh... but from a visual aspect.... AND a daily timeframe, i think it's an excellent balance that does indicate without doubt that a change in trend is occurring.

Question!
How do you manage or alter your trade when the MA gradient is flat or criss/crossing over each other?

i don't mind with Mr Q, at least he show me that he got a strong mental to float 300k profit .

and personally i do respect and i read everybody's post (if i've got enough time)

well it is back to playing sticky @ R1 currently I couldn't rule out a higher move but I will not trade it without some retrace first as per my analysis earlier.

in an ideal move we would actually see EU going down and EJ going up confirming dollar weakness across those two currencies but, the crosses have held EU up so I am assuming they will also bring it down when the time is right.

I use the ADX index with a 14,14 setting, Ive seen it usualy only criscrosses alot if the ADX is below 16000 and the lequidity is down When it is above that the market usualy trends. But if it cris crosses upwords its still fine.

If one of them is flat and the other one is alredy up, the one being flat usualys shows the trend has slown down to the point where the downwards momentum has stopped and a change could now occur. I just wait for them both to go up.

Yes it is lagging but this way we only buy in to the market after the trend is confurmed. or atleast thats what I like to belive
