The uptime with mbtrading sucks. There is frequent disconnection in morning and i have to call Jason from your Trading desk and he seems to be 1 man operation at that time. This leads to delays in execution.
This morning my order to close position was rejected and i lost 15 pips waiting for jason to clear it on mbtrading side.

I had chats with Jim (Tech support) and somebody called me from your company and said that i have to suck up the 15 pips that i lost waiting for Mbtrading to clear thier technical glitch.

yeah I had to download the desktop pro this evening, it took them a few hours to fix the MT4 guess it was stuck. Its been some years since I used that desktop pro and it has even gotten more complicated and complex, I couldnt figure much out. I do like the market depth tool, but I sure prefer the mt4!

Justin,

Is there any information you can share with us about the futures clearing switch from Apex to Knight?
I haven't used my futures account since 2009, but was considering some varied strategies involving foreign exchange futures.
Is there an ETA on online back-office services available from Knight?

Thanks in advance.

My scalping setup is below. Instead of trading off of charts, you can click the Level II window (it will prefill order prices in order entry window) and send many types of orders (or set Limit orders with 1/10 of a pip accuracy). You can cancel and choose different limits or market quickly. You can use the OneClick trading function (on left) and use market or limit orders. As you learn the platform, you can setup "hotkeys" to tie order functions to keystrokes, improving your speed. There is no better retail platform than MB Trading's Navigator...

Hi,
I have just opened a demo account with MBtrading and downloaded their PRO version. I am currently using MT4 and moving to either Jforex or MB desktop pro.
Can you by any chance share you MBtrading template (if such a thing exists) that you use for scalping?

Thanks,

S.

Just so you are aware... One of the things I like about MB, is they do a great job facilitating third party software to give traders as wide a range of possible software to use. As a result, there are many other platform choices at MB besides DeskTop and the troublesome MT4... a couple of these have free versions, Multi-Charts and NinjaTrader. They are listed on a page that is under the Partners section. On the main page click partners then Charting and Analytics.

This link will dump you onto the automated trading section of the Partners section....(Its impossible to give a direct link).... click the Charting and Analytics button near the top.... to see platforms.

Disclaimer: I am not net profitable scalping EUR/USD on the 1 min TF, although I was up money last year (2012). This year (2013), I am down...and spending more time trading futures (with MB Trading, of course).

Here is my template. The Simple Moving Averages are to get an "idea" of trend. The ATR(14) at the bottom is a way to get an "idea" of recent volatility.
You can enter orders using the Order entry below the "Level 2" style quotes or from the One Click entry on the left side.
Have fun with it, make some "tweaks" for your own personal preferences.

Have MBT's Desktop Pro working well enough to scalp trade. Also worked with their MT4. Both trade from charts well. What would be your choice? What am I missing? Gaining. No indicators, EA's needed for trading. Because I use Stop limits entries I would use their EXN option.

Thank you very much for your answer.

Are you working on the 1 minute chart as the lowest time resolution? Does MB pro support tick charts? otherwise it would be restrictive to scalp only on the 1 minute chart.

Thanks,

S.

Yes, I personally used the 1 min chart, while glancing at the 5 min and 15 min TFs for a longer term view.
Just to the right of the Symbol in the Chart window, is the timeframe selection (mine is on "1").
That drop down menu can be changed to tick, 15 tick, 37 tick, 5 sec, 10 sec... and higher time frames.
You can play around with that.

As Crassius mentioned in the previous post, other platforms are available to use with MB Trading.
There are some limited trial or free options. I have also used both Multicharts and NinjaTrader at times.
They are both very good and may have particular customization you are looking for.

Good Luck!

I'm 100% familiar with them. That's why I'm asking, because I think you are reading something wrong. You can do Stop Limits on the PFL plan as well.
