I see a couple of close zones before that area on my 4H intraday, starting around 123.44 and going through 124.50. Rally base drop type levels. No matter how you define a level those areas should stick out like a sore thumb on a 4H candlestick.

cable bears are attacking present 12hr rally 50fib, data in 30 and again in 2 1/2 hrs going to be an interesting night for gbp

That is a very good question, it is very rare for me to enter long and short trades on the same day because it is an easy way to burn accounts. I normally only do this if price hits a projected turn zone.

In this case we have a number of things happening that have led me to take such a risk....

we have had nearly a 400 pip rise and we all know "prices do not go in straight lines", but more importantly behind that quote is a reason a large move means large profits for some ergo momentum will fade and profits will be taken. Normally I would sit aside the retrace and await a new long entry but in this case the move is so big the retrace itself becomes trade worthy if done very carefully.

the next reason is that this move up is still counter trend on the daily (see earlier chart) and whilst predicted, and could possibly end the correction early is has yet to exceed point wB on the chart and therefore shorts are still trade worthy.

next the momentum has been caused by a meeting confirming various activities yet to be taken. So there is potentially room for retrace and reload before the main event when the actions start to confirm the words.

The first short I entered was 15 minutes before London open, a normally quiet point with the opportunity of London turning up to take some profits and support the retrace option.

Then there was the PA on the chart (tick chart) lower high around the Monthly pivot.

But to demonstrate the risk, I have had 2x short trade so far and 2x BE

I currently have another short running

I hope that explains the short....

Now do I see continuation of the correction down to 117.xx minimum, I really do not know, this is where high probability technical can sometimes get pushed to one side because of a strong fundamental shift in policy. so we shall have to wait and see what unfolds. but we are still operating inside 118.0x and 126.0x swing
