I think it has to do with your lotsize: if the robot closes half at some point, your initial lotsize should be at least the double of the min. lotsize required by your dealer. Regards,
Ludo

Thank you for responding Ludo. My lotsize is more than double the minimum lot size required by the broker. So that is not the problem.

It was also odd that the error arose on a losing trade. I would expect a partial close to occur on winning trades.

If you check back you will find that there does appear to be a partial close bug somewhere in the bot.

As a work around, during my testing on the 4H TF, I used Steve's mptm to do a partial close and switched off the partial close routine in the bot.

Hope this helps ...

When I have the time and inclination, I will try to find the half-close bug thingy. To be honest, I do not trade this robot so it is not a priority.

Macman,

What results have you found in your tests on this bot?

The forward testing on D1 is too soon to draw conclusions - very long term trading on D1. I personally think the bot can be profitable on D1, but tuning the options takes a long time. By adding the auto SR indi I have added a whole raft of extra settings to play with. At the moment it is just sitting in a corner of my VPS on demo & I check about once a week - long term project ...

Macman:

It has been over a year since anyone has posted on this thread, but I am curious to know what results you achieved with your version of this EA and if you are still using it.

Pete,

First the good news - the automated S/R areas worked very well

Now the bad news - I think there is a logic flaw somewhere in the coding, so basically it was put on hold, and predictably is still on hold as I needed the VPS capacity.

It is probably worth taking a second look at, if you have coding knowledge.

Best of luck

I appreciate hearing and learning about what your experience has been this past year. Sad to say I am not a coder, but am planning to learn how to do it this year. But I expect that it will take years until I get to the levels that you, Squalou and Steve have achieved.

I do have a friend here who is a computer scientist and into coding. He might like to clean this EA. It would help if you could detail at some point the logic issues you have discovered, or the symptoms the EA has that led you to the logic issue conclusion. Maybe at some point Steve might take another look as well.

Cheers,

Pete
