SteveHopwood EAs

SteveHopwood releases his latest EAs at an avg speed of around 15day/ea. People are rating that threads with many stars.

I have used many of them but havnt got any success till today. I want to know is there anybody got any success with any of these EAs. Please do share.

I use his trade manager all the time. Works for me.

He also coded the ea's for the NanningBob 5.3 method, which I am using. They are not so much fire and forget but you put them on charts when the market meets certain conditions. Up to the Japan earthquake I was profitable for 6 months with that system. I'm slowly working my way out of drawdown now but I intend to get back to it once DD reaches normal levels (the NB5.3 strategy usually comes with some drawdown, making money management all the more important).

Though I haven't used it, I hear many people are making money with The old/original beast (TOB), which is somewhat based on NanningBob 5 though many bells and whistles have been added over time.

Don't forget that most bots will make money when faced with the right market conditions. You'll never find a profitable fire and forget ea. They are tools in a trader's toolbox.

What is also useful is the discussion in the threads. We're all looking for those profits and with Steve's eas and the following discussion we can learn and improve as traders. So even if an ea is a total dud, you still get to learn.

SteveHopwood is a good programmer. No doubt.

But i havent seen any successfull programmer trader.

I think Coder can only make money in forex by selling their EAs

Of course there are successful programmer/traders. But they don't share their profitable EAs on forums like these, for obvious reasons.

I feel coders on such forums are never sucessful traders because these people always alter their strategies with people suggestions. All the time they are busy in designing new strategies and thats why they can release their EAs at such speed.
