I get so tired of these panic driven price actions. Let's see, we'll choose Cypress this time. Let the whole world freak, then it's time to get back to normal which it inevitably does. Is Greece still on the front page? Next week we'll spin the dial for another country.

I think there are a lot of people, perhaps even lurkers on this forum that against all advice opened a short on friday close. They may get lucky this time, just don't get too confident... next time could wipe you out.

If they are trading 1 pip = 1% of Equity then yes -100 pips can say good bye to the whole account but not everyone on this thread doing the same thing.

So what if they did. I once heard luck defined as a matter of preparation at the right time. Just because you or other traders may not have had success holding trades over the weekend does not mean that fits someone else's trading style or objective.

You could easily have lost 200 pips on tuesday and wednesday (hypothetical). Should we not trade those days either? Too many people hear try to oppose their advice onto someone else, and if they don't follow it they're stupid. It just gets old.

in general retailers will be using similar mm because of greed. So there will be margin call areas or targets. With negative news unavle to move price down so far means we are probably going to pop up on any positive news to trap shorts

My reasoning is with respect to stop losses being bypassed. It is a gamble.

If you used a guarenteed stop then great. How many of you did though?

If people want to lose their money then fine. I'm not complaining. I have my own system and I'm sticking to it.

I just remember when I first started trading I'd go against good advice because "I thought I knew better". I know how bad it feels to blow an account and just don't want other people to make the same mistake so easily.
