^Ken, keep in mind that prior to the open of a market, players can bid or ask whatever the hell they want( i goof around in thin markets trying to "trick" the market - it is 99% futile - but i do it anyways just to watch order flow react).. this is NEVER an indication of how the market will open... I dont know what depth of market reads ECN's and Bucket shops offer(i am a futures trader), or what miniscule amount they represent in relation to open interest - but one thing is for sure: A market only shows its colors when it's actually open for business.. Settlement, btw, on Globex CHI, was 8 pips below the last trade on the close, with a lot of TAS orders - "Trade At Settlement" - which also, btw, doesnt mean jack in regards to sentiment - for it is merely an aggregate of orders postponed to close in the final seconds..

Here in the UK, the government underwrites the first £85K of any monies deposited with any one bank. That means any group of banks under the same parent company. It also covers up to £85K held in a forex broker account.

I can't see the UK government ever imposing a haircut in the way that Cyprus is contemplating; however, all the same, I still hedge my bets when it comes to bank deposits. Furthermore, I won't touch any banks based within the eurozone with a mile-long disinfected bargepole. This is why I cleared out my offshore Santander a/c a few months ago.

The FSCS underwrites the protection by a levy on it's members. FX accounts are covered up to £50K only.

The government only underwrites if it chooses to.

Hey guys...
If you are offended why don't you try to resolve it by PM messages rather than having us endure it in the public forum? It looks like we're getting backing to the thing at hand EU. Does anyone recall when the gap has not been filled. I think once that's done it should be heading back down as the indicators suggest.
