I can tell you 1,000,000,000........... reasons why you should trade with SL or exit strategy.
I had coded & tested thousands of different trading algos with different MM s. I mean thousands.

there is no such system that can manage to stay alive without MC.
any system has to has to has to has ..................... SL or exit strategy.

we are not the only super genious ones. there are thousands of students/instutions/banks/funds & very smart guys working on this problem for years but they could not find the way of trading without SL or exit startegy.

if so lehman would not blow or we would not see rouge traders that loose billions of dollars.

there is no system that can manage to survive without SL or exit strategy.


but...........
if you aim to get lower gain then standart bank interest then you can do that. thats possible. but @ that point you better put ypur money to bank

If 100 pips is 5,000 GBP and my account is 100,000 GBP then going long at 1.50 means i can cover this all the way to 1.30 before a margin call.

If my TP is 1.55 then im simply betting that price will hit 1.55 at some point in time. I may sit negative for a period but at some point i will profit 25,000 from the trade

Steve before I call it a night I will agree with you (shock! who me Mr. No SL no way)...lol

If you are over leveraged like Lehman you will crash and burn without SL.

If you over trade like most retail traders you will crash and burn without SL.

If you try MM without a computer program that uses extreme parameters using an algorithm you will crash and burn without SL. Mine is not for sale at this time so traders you will have to code your own.

The only claim I have to my winning track record is my software program. I could not do all the math in real time in my head and tough on paper. It has a circuit breaker that cuts me off when I go to far to prevent MC.

You my dear FX brother as a respected coder knows it takes time and money to create something that works in the real world. I paid my dues with losses for years until I got the algo correct. To me I had to feel the pain as my way of learning as the best lesson. But that is just me.

Since the algo is based on the price of E and other factors it works well in all market conditions. It is not an entry or exit algo, it is a money algo and that is it. No magic no black box. just 1+1=2 old school math.

Maybe I am ahead of my time and that is OK. I would rather be early to the party then late.

If I am blessed and my dreams come true and my program goes main stream someday (not tomorrow, not next week or even next month, or even at all) you can say I knew that guy when everyone laughed at him...like Einstein the MC squared quantum physics guy who couldnt match his socks.

I do respect what you do/code/trade. its your money & account

A program can be overridden. It doesn't matter what the program is, MM is about discipline.

For those who don't understand what I'm talking about, look at your savings account or your credit card statement. If you have no savings account and credit card debt piled up for so long that you named it, you don't have money management discipline. Unless you have that, you will ultimately fail as a trader. You might have great days, good days and not so bad days. But ultimately, without the discipline to do proper money management, you will fail.

Good trades come and goes but when you have a bad streak, can you survive it.

EuroTraderJD, your system works for you and that's great. But saying that MM without a computer program ensures crashing and burning is not true.

here is my view for today. EU absolutely get lower and lower. all we have to do is to wait the big bear will come.

the next target area is 1.2830, 1.2805, and the my maximum target for today trading is 1.2750. I don't want to scalp long EU at the moment, still believe that EU will go down further and EU will close lower than today's opening. So i don't want to see any price higher than 1.2910.

anyway, i put short @1.2870 - SL 1.2910 , TP - 1.2750. perhaps only one trade today coz i still have many things to do. and see what happen.
