How to scale in and out of trades with MT4?

Was looking where i could ask this question in an existing thread but couldn't find any appropriate so here goes...

Can anyone let me know how i can scale out of a trade with MT4..

So,.. I place a trade say 10 lots (for example)...

The trade goes my way for say 50 pips and i want to reduce my risk to 2.5 lots and let it run....

Do i have to now delete the trade and place a different trade with 2.5 lots, this doesnt seem right..

You simply close out a portion of your position. Sounds simple enough. Consult your expert google.

Seems this is only allowable with certain brokers...
