I don't watch the news for trading purposes either. Just after a sudden move like that I look to see what caused it.

EUR/USD moved 1 min later than EUR/JPY (USD/JPY), so there was a little time to get out or get in.

all this cooperation stuff is just BS really, they spend how many billions a year on things like the EU and G7 G20...... and come up with meaningless statements like this...... (just the EU monsters budget is 910 billion a year)

G7: Traders doing a reread of the G7 statement trying to find what part might
have been misinterpreted, struggling to do so. "We, the G7 Ministers and
Governors, reaffirm our longstanding commitment to market determined exchange
rates and to consult closely in regard to actions in foreign exchange markets.

I don't think that would move the market much at all. Heck. The maximum single trade size at Oanda is 10 mil and they say they have no trouble filling that.
