LONG at 1.2775. Didn't wait for TL touch this time, because of incoming ECB interest rate statement I don't see too much moving until after statement. Also because of this news I entered half my usual position.

It might be.
I bought dip now twice the gbp-usd and sold again after 20 pips each. so +40 by now.
But I use this system only in extreme oversold or oberboght conditions.
I cant tell you what will happen because Im also confused about ECB or FEd in the last days
I dont want to be in any trade , im only taking some pips were possible now

Bad UK data out. If it was good EUR would have shot faster up. In this case people whould be long GBP will long EUR/USD instead. I follow my indicators.

Will close with profit soon near the 50 ema.
Right now 23 pips and stop loss moved upwards.

Hey guys,
this would be my first post after joining FF months back.

According to Ashraf Laidi,

Dollar rallies across the board while gold drops below $620 per ounce on reports that Al Qaeda leader Musab Al Zarqawi was killed in a US raid in Iraq. A statement is due soon from the US military. The headline accelerated the dollar rally vs the European currencies, especially the Swiss franc, which usually strengthens in times of geopolitical uncertainty.

Any comment?

Have you ever thought of opening one long and one short position for the same paire for the news when Trichet speaks ?

I put both sides orders before big news (not interest reates..) because I cant open 2 opposite positions on same pair with my broker.

But I guess that if you can is a good thing during conferences.

but i think Trichet is not very good in convincing people, and usually when he talsk euro gets down...
I dont know if he is able to make it up unless he says very very very clearly : a next hike .25 is garanteed..

Ouchhh!!! All this talk from everybody going long. Zarqawi dead = dollar up across the board. ECB came as expected and Euro tanked! 8:30 news = Euro tanked again.

Great opportunities to go short

today the $ rules...all day since morning we could tell it aint gonna be an easy ride for the euro...ok the hike was well priced in and it wasnt a 50 points hike...BUT all that me trichet said was euro positive...did anyone heard him??? NOOOO.... why??? well the dolar today not only rose BUT broke all resistance on 1.27 and 1.2650 and now threatens 1,26.... in my opinion whatever happened today with ECB wasnt at all a driver for the dolar strenght....It is Fed positive comments that still hungs in the air and also this killing of the chief terrorist in Iraq (these news always get a move in the market and overshadow anything else...)


now..question is untill when do we see all the strenght in $???

well the trade balance will be point 1 and if that is not bad then wait for the CPI...that is when the big move will happen...i read some negative forecasts(weaker number) so...in that case euro can take back all losses by next friday....
