I started trading EU because it was considered a trendy pair at that time. Wanted to apply Jesse Livermore's tactic of letting winners run. But this pair is not as trendy as I thought.

Since UJ makes abrupt spikes, one can set good r:r ratio. Plus, it nicely retraces. I am basically a counter-trend trader and can nicely scalp UJ with 1:4 R:R with about 50% winning ratio. With high risk, doubling an account in few months or a year was never a problem for me until 2007.

I quit both UJ and counter-trading in 2008 after a heavy loss, also started exploring the web to learn more. Before that, I just traded my own way and knew nothing about technicals........... absolutely nothing.

But I now realize that this loss was only because of global financial crisis and had very little to do with my trading method. I am back to counter-trend trading and UJ.

In 2008 (summer of 2008) ATR 14 climbed from around 1 up to 2.8 (end of October). I think that was the period you got burned. Countering the short trend-moves with long positions?

ok. My broker is closed showing 1.3365 but it accepted a sell limit order at 1.3350.

I will be very unhappy with you if your information is wrong.

Question (always to ask from yourself when in a difficult situation): Will you go back to fix a bridge that blew-up behind you when you are fighting a war and progressing forward?
