It's not how much money you throw in, but how much do you risk per trade. To trade safely your stop loss shouldn't be more than 1-2% of your account. So in your case your stop loss is $2 max. (2% of $100).

I limit my risk to 1% of my available trading funds for any one trade.

Depends on how much money you got.

With a 100$ account, 2% equals to 2$ so 20 pips (min lot).
It's pretty hard to allow yourself a 10 pips loss.

Out @1.3541 +21 pips... Expect some push to the downside and will reload, Shorting is not an option for me today...

Might as well just start with Demo account. Aslo studying wouldn't hurt since money management is one of basics and there is a lot to learn besides that.

With £120k I still have a decent amount to play with.

Even a bad trader with good MM can make it.

And demo account is not the best thing for the psy part....unless you have a very strong psy level

if you trade in a hard market (volatile) - your stop isn't triggered right away you won't get those fills. I agree though it can be good practice for abiding by stop losses. but realistically - 10 pips... my opinion it isn't realistic. when you start handling more money it is going to be different. going from micro from mini for example is like going to from a featherweight to a middleweight - the punches are going to be harder so to speak. If you ever watch fighting it's a very big difference - especially when you get into heavyweight level (full lots).
