You know why in a break out the first attemp to break is always the fake one... Because : If there is a real intention to break , everyone wants the lowest / highest point possible - to hide his stop lose there and make sure it won't be touched, then he push it the direction it intends to do.

This range might be waiting either for a political statement that will change something or the FOMC minutes in early February

In regards to euro futures, which is correlated the pair, it seems to not be able to surpass my daily pivot of 1.3359 and has yet to close above the 50-day DEMA in a few days, I don't like SMAs. Every time it has hit the 50-day, it has declined a fair amount. It will be interesting to see what happens. Germany received nice PMI data, but Germany has always been top dog in the EZ. Nothing new. France PMI was weak, and the Spanish unemployment is horrific. Clearly the EZ has yet to fix the very problems they face, but neither has any other crisis economy.

Just came back from skiing. Hardcore winter going on! Windy and cold stuff. I see we had one more try from the bear motion but defeated again. Now bulls get another try, if beaten again..then we still have nothing on.

Indeed. If GBP/USD did bounce to 1.6 an easy +300 pips for GBP/JPY with weakening Yen.
