On the breakout of this range or in big trending days like the 10th of Jan, u only get one shot at entering. If U blow it, u are left with your mouth open staring at the screen seeing how price moves fast and furious and never comes back to retest anything. On ranging days u have 3,4 or maybe more trades in a day. So its easier to make money in ranges as long as they are decent. For example the one on Monday was pure crap.

These are novoice traders , they see the price crashing down in their 5min charts and they think its the end of the world - however, if you had the H1 opened you could see that the sharp move down is just similay the elevator going down and will come up again ! But lets have a look on the H1 so far :

The bearish zone is getting more dominate over Bullish zones. You may also notice how the Bearish zone is kind of narrowing the distance between it and the neutral area - So, i would really understand shorting 1.335X to 1.3395X - but don't really get the logic or longing to 1.348X with all of this hesitation.

But i could be wrong

Nah it doesn't work that way. It will work only when price start to drop -10 pips like a broken clock declaring 'LOOK I AM ALWAYS RIGHT TWICE IN 24 Hour'.

It seems the market is waiting for news about fiscal cliff / US debt.

So we can range more weeks !!! S*!#....

And the long term support goes slowly up... Pressure increases !

Yeah.. I've spent a few hours rating this tight range over such a lengthy time period.. It's extraordinary to say the least.. RSI on the 4H looks like a flat liner at 50.. this could go either way.. and it could go 120 pips pretty quick..

Since I was accused of not sharing anything useful, here's something useful.

Watch the Options strikes daily. Most junior traders here only think in terms of the spot market, stop hunting and other ideas they have. This is not how it works.

Price goes where the profits are, it doesn't care about attacking positions. Option puts are much lower risk than spot, so it's where the big money is because it's the best R:R. Price will run through anything in it's way if the stake is large enough.

If a strike is in range, that's the gravity of the daily market. It has nothing to do with anything else. Every day people come to forums like this and pretend to understand what they're doing.

If you want to understand the markets, you need to study how they really work.

As far as bullies on the forum are concerned, all you need to do is look at their track record to understand their frustration.

It's very easy to work out if someone is making 20% on a managed fund. At the time fxtyrant stopped posting his FXBook he was at BE on a string of losses with a top gain of 4% and a low of 4% at 200% leverage on demo.

Anyone in finance taking one look at this track record would never invest. Neither should anyone here who might not understand stats.

Just so you know.

Trading other people's money is more profitable if it's large enough. But that's something that needs a real track record to attract investment. For most retailers, it's many years out on the curve.

You can be satisfied with earnings and not look outside what you do for anything else. Everything in trading is a choice. So, it really depends on what your objectives, skill level, and connections are.

So, it hit 20 aroundbouts with euro-dollar correction against swissy. 25 may have some nice orders if want to sell.
They think they are smarter than I am.

Yes it makes sense but $200K on manged funds can't say it is a lot.

To risk other people's money is much easier less presure but they might argue the reputation is on the stake if they actually have one.

Now it makes sense why they always target this thread as the hunting ground to attract people to the extend of insulting, personal attact, provoking other members just so they have excuse to reveal the service they provide without violating forum rules. When they got caught and banned from FF they always create multiple usernames to start all over again.
