What do you guys do with these breakout strategies once daylight savings time rolls around?. On Oct. 30th London will move back one hour and on Nov. 6th so will New York. Do we still use the 00-03:00 EST for our lines?

I am a little late to the thread. As a newbie. May I ask a question that the Breakout strategy is still effective?

Yes, I trade Live acc. but only this week first trade this method. Yes, I share next more week, how work for me.
My broker is admiral markets and I can separate low balance account, I test it on this.

This week +165 pips. 15 closed trade, 9 winning 6 losing but not all trade this strategy.

Today 2 trade I get 68 pips....

Yesterday I take one trade GBPUSD and go to BE on 20pip profit, but not trigerred the Tp1. The trade get out.
My personal aim 200 pips one week. Today I take one trade GBPUSD, I get 225 pips this week, close the chart and open the beer!

Today sold GBPUSD @1.5855 SL to BE +20pips and close half position TP1 (1.5825).

Today
GBPUSD sold @1.5827 not yet. 2 position SL 20 I get -40pip.
EURUSD other setup -40 pip. I take buy stop GBPUSD @1.5870, EURUSD @1.3366

I like the Fed strategy, my box is GMT2-5 buffer 7 pips, top + spread, bottom no spread.
change: I take order only after GMT8.15 candle close. order expired it GMT 18.30 no OCO.

EDIT: Buy stop EURUSD not triggered, GBPUSD triggered but not yet. Today -120 pips.
this week 6 trade 2 win 4 lost av pips -70

I testing what good filter, how to take only one side order...

I vote this method is profitable...

This week I loss but not all trade this strategy.
This strategy:

  1. M 3 trade GBPUSD +48pips
  2. Tu 2 trade GBPUSD -80pips (SL20 pips, but 2 micro lot 1 position)
  3. W 2 trade GBPUSD -39pips (take 2 micro lot 2 position, 1*2 micro lot position get out +1 pip)
  4. Th 4 trade GBPUSD -50pips; GBPJPY +44pips
  5. Fr 1 trade GBPJPY +45pips
  6. Total 12 trade 6 win 5 loss 1 BE -32pips


GBPJPY just I take 1 micro lot becuase I set only TP1.

I testing how can I use the filters. I think good set is 144 envelope, and CCI histogram 320 (H4 20) and supertrend indicator. The filter is only just one trade, no setup buy and sell at once.

Not all trade this strategy but first tested time is here:

Profit Factor: 1.48
Return: 32,2%
Net pips: +438
Max Return Run-Up: 49,7%
Max Return Drawdown: 24,1%
Win Rate: 53,1%

Trades 90% this breakout system ( I like the Fed method).
