Mitch McConnell On Fiscal Cliff Negotiations - Business Insider
Near the end of a frantic, back-and-forth day pertaining to fiscal cliff negotiations, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said on the Senate floor today that he was "a little frustrated" with the state of fiscal cliff negotiations.
"Republicans have bent over backwards. We stepped way, way out of our comfort zone," McConnell said. He charged Democrats with trying to deflect attention to the GOP because "they don't have a plan of their own that could get bipartisan support."
In rebuttal, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid predictably disagreed. Reid said that President Barack Obama had already put forward a bipartisan plan, but that "Grover [Norquist] and the boys" had prevented it.

Today's London Open Chart for me. Upside Bias Longs from 1.3236
H4 Chart suggests trading between 1.3230 and 1.3268 so one of the zone breaks.
With no atticipation allowed I must simply wait.

1.3205 was the last bastion of intraday support. Expect loads of stops to trigger now and then test yesterday's lows.
ADD: And while I was typing the above, the market jumped ahead of me. Now we have support at 1.3173, 1.3157 and 1.3143. Buckle your seat belts coz after that we have nothing but vacuum till 1.3070.

I never forget your Piggy...... I am holding The D1 demand zone. I bought to early at 1.3205 and 1.3207 and can weather the storm if the zone is taken out .. I really like working here with you. We can disagree but respectfully. I like that.

This 3170 level is going to be tough. i don't think sellers can crack it today. it took 3 days to bid it up past this bit a few weeks back. i would LOVE to be wrong.
edit: PT, did you watch s&p yesterday? yesterday defines political manipulation of financial instruments. i got short at 1414 but covered really early at 1406 (botched trade handling
).. then it goes down another 10 handles. then up 18 handles. i stepped aside after my short though. political chop like that is just madness and defies everything i know about PA. in hindsight i could have just closed my eyes and bought once the house was recalled... c'est la vie.

Regarding the whipsaw move yesterday, thin markets will always do that. Add the political risks to it and you've got a guaranteed chop market on your hands. The good thing out of all of this is that most players are sidelined, so any sudden moves lack momentum... a scalper's dream.
As for the 3170 level (Actually it's 3176), it's a very key level. Fact is that the weekly chart has failed to close above or below that level for the last two candles creating two shooting stars (very bearish sign). However, I see it as indecision because in order to confirm the bearish signal, we need to see a weekly close at least 50 pips below 3176. Why 3176? Because it is the 78.6% fibo level of the 2012 range high to low.
ADD: I forgot to mention that this chart and the indicated projection is still in play... so far.
