With SymphonieMatrix v4.4h and using optimize settings there is no longer need to have a 60min chart for confirmation. you just trade the single chart and use the optimize setting for the matrix in that timeframe and you are good to go.

Hey Mkfx...I was using the 15 min time frame with the optimized settings...I wake up at 7.30 in the morning my time ( 2.00 GMT ) and look for the signal that is continuing ( for example If yesterday before going to bed there was a long signal which is still valid today I enter a long trade )..
I use a 30 pips stop loss as suggested by Eval and use a 50 pip take profit or if I get an opposite signal I exit the trade and reverse my position using the same parameters..Basically I follow a signal to signal strategy but with a 50 pip take profit...
But from monday I'm going to start testing the 5min time frame with a 30 stop loss and a 20 take profit level...Lets see how it goes

i think when i get to 30 pip profit, or +50 pip profit, i will just take my profits, and look for more trades instead of holding my trades for hours and hours. i'd rather be in profit with a big pip gain, rather than take a +3 pip gain(any gain is positive however). if i end up with +30 pips, i will automatically close my trades for profit.

take short signals below the 200 day moving average.. take long signals above the 200 day moving average. look for 100 day mva crossovers

May I know what timeframe do you use for your trading strategy? 5 or 15 mins? When you refer to your trading strategy, are you using the following entry rules:

Enter long trade when price above 200 MA, enter short trade when price below 200 MA? What about 100 MA? When the price is below 200 MA but above 100 MA, do you still enter short trade or do you wait for the price to move below both 200 and 100 MA before you short and vice versa for long trade when price is above 100 and 200 MA? I assume you are using simple moving average in this case. I can also safely assume that you do not simply enter the trade when MA criteria has been met but only when symphonie matrix has given the go ahead signal to you.

I believe using both MA and symphonie signal may filter out more noise than symphonie signal alone can especially during choppy markets. Please provide as much details as possible as I would like to try out your methods and assess whether it is technically feasible to do so or not. Thanks.

I am new to this tread and I have read it with great interest.
Thanks alot Evaluator for the work and time you've invested.
I think I have understood the basic principles.
I saw that Evaluator is trading with pending orders see post 19,946 ().
How do you calculate the value of these pending orders?
I am going to start testing the Symphonie System on a demo account, I'll keep you up to date.

I'm using the 1 hour time frame. I don't use the 5, or 15. when i get my signal from symphonie on the 60, i will put an entry 5 pips ahead in the direction of the signal at it's highest or lowest closing candle. so for example, when i get a long signal, i wait for the close of the candle to determine the highest point of the candle that correlates to that signal. i put my entry 5 pips above the high on that candle and let the market come to me.( in the words of evaluator " set your entry 5 pips above or below and allow the market to come to you. when the market is ready to move, you will be in the trade" )



you are correct ! you must only look for long signals when price is above the 200 AND 100 day moving average. if price is in between 100 and 200 day moving averages, this is what we call consolidation.. bulls and bears in even strength trying to push price in a specific direction. so we wait until we see some strength in one direction... you want to wait until price is below both 100 and 200 day in order for it to be considered bearish. For longer term trends, watch for the 100 day to cross above or below the 200 day moving average. indicating price has dropped to new lows. for my exits, i use Fibonacci to measure price and find my targets ( i will put the perfect Fibonacci retracement settings at the bottom of this post). if you are the faint of heart, use a dynamic stop loss.. set your stop loss +1 when you are 10 pips in profit, assuring you are +1 profit, therefore no loss. as price moves more in your favor, the dynamic stop will move your stop up with price, locking in more profits.

Thanks for your prompt and detailed reply. Now it makes complete sense to me since your time frame is 60 mins instead of 5 or 15 mins. I have traded EURUSD using various timeframe. The trades that continuously giving me consistent profits is the one that requires me to hold the trade for at least a few days to a few weeks, depending mainly on the fundamentals + some techincals like major support/resistance, divergence signal, ...etc . I have never done consistently well for time frame as short as 5 mins especially just before or after major news release.

But I am quite inspired by evaluator's impressive work, especially on the 1% profit on the daily basis and his meticulous records of Excel data. Your method suits me even better since I am more familiar with MA. Can I confirm your MA is simple moving average or exponential average? I would like to compare using Evaluator's method on 5 mins vs your method using 60 mins time frame using demo account for a duration of say 45 days.

If the price penetrates the 200 MA when taking long position even though symphonie extreme signal does not reverse, will you close the trade (assuming you have not reached 10 pips for B/E yet and it is less than the initial stop loss)?

simple moving average... i have a dynamic stop loss setup on my trades now. however, if i reach my fibonacci target i will automatically close my trade. i have a profit target for all of my trades

you can definitely trade the 15m charts, just make sure you have your moving averages set

200 and 100 day.. if you are scalping, then you don't need moving averages, because symphonie gives you the overall trend. however, if you plan to sit on a trade for a few hours, even a couple days, then you will need to use the 200 day and 100 day

Hey...your welcome..well I'm using the latest symphonie 4.4h and the optimized settings for the 15m time frame...No template...Just drag and drop the indicator on your chart..Thats all..Simple is better
