Took 3R on an Dax FB short today - annotated charts below explain the setup (SL was @ 7189.5) - lines in red mark the entry, SL and exits areas.

Took 1.5R on this one yesterday - same as the Dax trade - trading with the institutional order-flow against the novice order-flow.

Concepts like this can be used on any TF on any liquid asset class - a good trader can do just that - trade any TF, any asset class, but most people have a mechanical mindset and will only trade if a bar closes on a fixed TF in the 'right' way.

Thinking about how you can extract the maximum R out of an overall scenario is what professional trader does - TF becomes irrelevant.

Saw this one late and entered at the close of the 1h FB. Not even close to matching your R.

EU trading day attached, 1m TF. Mixed session, if a little frustrating.

1) FB off previous swing high. 3m chart showed a clearer 'graphic'. Half position on this as I found EU quite choppy of late.
2) D zone I hoped would get tested, but didn't.
3) Went short with a 2m binary but my broker failed to execute it. Very annoying.

I have to rush so forgive the explanation. In short I cannot fault your chart and you are looking at things in the right way. I'm still a little more 'conservative' that LJ when it comes to certain entries. Based on that chart (And I don't follow that pair for many reasons), I would have been all over a clear FB from that SR level you marked. I personally could not have managed a workable or worth while trade (From an R:R point of view) when there were signs that sellers were in control. That's not to say it's not tradable, I just prefer to maximise my R. Once you factor in spread, I would be happier trading off EU 5m chart over CADCHF 1H

My initial SL was 5975. Closed 2/3 @ 5940 for +40 pips.

I agree that a more 'obvious' FB would have been preferable, plus price had to consume demand just below - hence why it paused for a number of hours first. The good FB's generally tend to just 'go' as the order-flow behind an FB generates good momentum.

I don't know about a bearish drive but EU and USDx gave a very clear picture on H4 TF on both.
