Your experience with Forex.com [GAIN Capital Group, LLC]

I'm thinking of opening an account with forex.com. Anyone wish to share their experience with forex.com [GAIN Capital Group, LLC] and help by posting some latest review ?

nobody using forex.com in FF ? I don't see any latest forex.com comments on any thread.

I had an account with them a couple of years ago. I didn't have any stop hunting experience, everything seemed ok until I tried to withdraw my money and close the account. First, they only refunded part of the account. I called and told them I wanted the entire thing closed. They couldn't tell me why they only refunded part, but apologized and said they would forward the rest.

I had funded the account with a credit card, which was stupid and I would never do again. Subsequent money was put in with a different card. When they went to refund the balance, they said they would put it on the first card I used, which was, by that time, a closed account. I explained that to them and was told that they had to refund money the same way it was funded. I reminded them I had put money in with a different card and they didn't care. When I told them the account was closed, they said I would have to contact the bank and have them refund the credit amount they put on the closed card. It took me two months to get the money.

I would never go with them again. Try MBT. It's not a dealing desk, it's an ECN and their customer service is top notch.

Hmm, couple of years ago and current service might have a big different. A couple of years ago they were been fine by the NFA. Thanks for your info, i will be careful if i decide to put money in.

Latest about Forex.com is that they deleted completely one day of trading from their charting data on esignal (Forex Charts): December 9, 2010. That is terrible isn't it?

I had an account with Forex.com a few years back. Never had any problems with them. Customer service was always courteous, withdrawals/deposits were fast, platform uptime was great, and trade execution was always fast. I closed the account because I wasn't a fan of their platform and they didn't offer any mobile trading app.

I have a friend who currently uses Forex.com as his primary broker. He's fairly new trading and has chose Forex.com because they have a decent trading application, wonderful web based trading app, and iPhone trading app. He, like me, we're always on the go and do a considerable amount of mobile trading.

I opened a demo recently and test drove their new trading platform (desktop, web, mobile). Desktop trading app isn't robust enough for a pro trader like me but I'm sure its a fine platform for new traders looking for an easy way to open/close trades. Theres a lot of News and Analytics provided in their desktop app, but if you search around on the internet its said, Forex.com manipulates their news feeds. Also said, their analytics are always wrong. Something to look into if your serious about going with Forex.com and using their Dow Jones news feed.

I like their web based trading app. Its different in that most web base trading apps, but it seems to work. The only thing is, I can't tell if their web charts are Live Streamed for delayed. My demo charts never seem to move with the price shown, which is streaming. Many ways to manage orders and various order types.

I have a Blackberry and Forex.com does not offer a BB trading app. That alone would be a reason for me not to sign up with them. They do have an iPhone and Android app and from what I've seen is from playing with my friends iPhone app, its decent. For Blackberry users, we must use some archaic WAP mobile website that even doesn't seem for work with native BB browser. Hands down on managing orders through their WAP trading. Very slow and I have had to press the reload button often just to get the app to work.

As far as Forex.com is as a company, they've been caught manipulating customers orders and positions. They've been charge with defrauding their customers on a few occasions by the CFTC.

Their trading conditions aren't good either. I don't see why anyone should leave the better brokers out there and trade with this lame broker.

These people make my head explode. I never get to use them because the customer service when I deal with chats drive me up the wall.

First we all get bought out at CMS, I never get an email. They somehow got an old email(my account was active and updated at CMS). I have to use their customer support to find all this out. They reset my password. They send it to the email that still doesn't work. This takes 3 people.(look for my posts in that thread)

Then I request a withdrawl. Somehow it gets processed but not completed on the EXACT same day they change over my account for VTrader. Ok fine, but this takes 30 minutes in chat on on the phone to find the button where to request the check again. The lady is hung up on giving me an invalid URL, on and on and on. And she has the nerve to ask me what is the problem I am inquiring about after saying I'm in the system. "HOW DO I REQUEST A CHECK!??" "I have to email you the link".
So after all this, there was never a way to request a check electronically! And now I have to PAY for a fax and wait another week. 3 weeks to get my money!

I requested a check 2 weeks ago, did not receive it, doesn't look like it was sent, and how do I request a new check from this new website?

I like the commentary and trading tools, but everytime i need a simple thing(A CHECK, OR MY PASSWORD GIVEN TO THE RIGHT EMAIL AND NOT REPEATEDLY SENT TO THE DEAD ACCOUNT) it's a health issue.
An no excuse, I've been in customer service my whole life and have a degree in it, I never see this stuff.
By the way, there is nothing else in the chat after this, I called after 10 minutes, got the same girl apparently, and still fought for 10 minutes before getting the check request form in my email, there is no link! Like I said in the chat, you can use more than one browser and 2 computers, what I'm using with to chat isn't the issue with you not having a link and not telling me!
Wouldn't it have been easier to say we don't have a request check option on that site yet and be done with it?

I'm planning to use forex.com (Gain Capital) MT4 account starting by this year, switching from GFT UK to them.

Do you guys have any feedback about their MT4 account slippage, re-quote, price execution for limit order, etc?

Following attachment is the latest conversation between forex.com and I, talking about my interest-free account (Shariah account). Personally, after get clear picture about their commission structure for interest-free account, I halt my plan to switch to them..

They were my very first broker so many years ago. I only traded with them for about a month or two...

As a newb back then, I found the charting and platform 'ok' but I was very excited about trying other platforms and seeing what worked best for me (live that is.)

The eSignal charts they offer isn't eSignal's eSignal platform... just quick and dirty chart implementation with forex.com's data feed strung into it. It's ok, and at the time it was better than their own platform's charting software, so it had its place.

My biggest problem was with their currency strategist at the time, a guy named Todd Gordon (I have no idea if he's still there any more, this was back ~07.) As a newb, I liked reading his articles off the forex.com's market news and analysis pages... but I quickly noticed that his bad trades would be deleted from the site and only the good winning trades would remain. They'd leave on the odd 30 pip losers to show that he was human... but any disastrous trade would be gone from the site within a day. That made me VERY uncomfortable doing business with the company.

I never had any of my own trades messed with, even though forex.com has been charged by the CFTC before for defrauding clients via market manipulation (and to be fair to them, this practice has since stopped.)

What had me them, in the end, was simply liking FXCM's TSII platform a bit better... and as a newb, I liked FXCM's educational resources a little better too... (BUT!!! this is by no means an endorsement of FXCM on my part.. they are a good broker for someone to learn the basics with on a small account, and they provide great resources.. but it's very easy to out grow them as you become more experienced and find niche brokers that fit your needs better.)

Lastly, I never had any issues pulling my money out of forex.com, they did transactions within a day usually and I never once felt my money was at risk with them at the time.

I had a few email conversations with him while he was at Gain, asking about his thoughts on trade setups and such.. This was so very many years ago...
I was such a newb back then and actually cared what people thought instead of trying to do my own research and learn from my own mistakes.

He was a nice fellow... don't get me wrong... and for all I know it was the company that deleted his bad trades from the site and he had nothing to do with it.

I'd an account with Gain Capital a while back, but no longer. The reasons vary, from lousy CS to spreads, but have moved on since.

I should have known these people were going to be problems when they couldn't figure out how to send me my username when they took my account or the employees don't know how to input simple URL files.

I've been trying to get $200 from my account for months. After multiple attempts numerous ways, I've been charged $90 in fees, my account is now zero, and I haven't seen a dime yet.
What's more amusing, is I'm looking through this old post, it's the same withdrawl request. I only hadn't needed it for a while, then had an emergency, wrote down what the withdrawls were for, never got them. I'm lucky to have a place to live or utilities on with these people.

I was spinning a yearn about my experience with this company, a non-terse version of what I posted above. I should've talked to that lady's manager and requested her to be fired, but aside from that....

I still haven't seen a dime from this company years latter. They've stolen my money.
Thanks to CMSfx for selling my account to such a scum broker. I'd like to know how these too big to fail firms get away with it.

I would like to share my experience using FOREX.COM with live account.

I have been trading for more than 5 years, never been successful at it. At a point I stoped completelly. Then decided to get back to it.
I openend a demo acount, in 7 days I turned 50 000$ to 2 050 000.00$ so I was confident that I could switch to a live account that maybe I somehow improoved my methods!

I ended up lossing all my capital again, but I felt like I had to give it a try. I am glad I did, I have again learned something. I should stay away from trading!
That being said, I would like to describe some issues I had with FOREX.COM for anyone who could be considering trading with them they might be interested to hear about it.

I want to apologize for my language as english is not my primary language. I will try to describe the best I can what happened with FOREX.COM
I will also attache 2 pictures to illustrate, I hope you can see them.

From time to time, on a daily basis i experimented major glitches on the candlestick chart. I am not talking small glitches.

Many time, in period of what they would call "hi-volatility" when it s time for a new candle to start (I use 15 min timeframe) the new candle won t show. The trading line price where you should see the price movement get stuck without moving and there is no candle at all.
Then there is big moves and both direction but you don't see as there is no data showing up. Then after a while, sometime more than 1 minutes you get the signal back with a distorted candle that start from nowhere close to where it should be and the missing information will not be there. Then when it come back, your margin as been trigered, your most lossing position closed and your account wiped drastically. Yesterday, I had that happened to me twice in less than 2 hours. I was using their MT-4 platform.

I always use a second platform so at the same time I had a demo account with FXCM opened on the FXCM MT-4 platform. The glitch you get from FOREX.COM does not appear on the FXCM one. So if it is because of hi-valatility, why FXCM was able to provide constant data.
Of course when this happened it is always at the same time there is a big wiping move in both direction. You then get in "the dark" like blinded for a few second with no chance to react to either protect yourself or take advantage of it. You are stuck in the dark for a moment and in a blink of the eye it comes back, sometime far away from entry point (of that new candle) and you discovered that it went all direction to trigger your margin and that your account balance as gone lower drastically.
It always happened at the start of a new candle. I was expecting a big move... there is some hours were your feel something big will happened. So I always get ready at the end of a 15 minutes candle expecting that it might move big. So I watch the clock ticking with the "Sell, Buy" dialog box openend and my finger on the mouse ready to react to whereever it will go to either close position or open new ones. If it goes wrong and need to get some margin headroom, I would probably closed some wining position or opened opposite position to hedge myself and get some margin while the move is happening so I can keep my position open hoping to close them when they should make some profit later in the future.
But when thoses glitches happened, there is nothing you can do. You just have no clue what is going on. By the time you figure out that there is a major glitch and major move, it s already too late. Then it goes in the direction you were hoping for, but it s too late...positions that could have win have been closed.
I have contacted the support live chat after it happened to me twice in less than 2 hours. Timothy, the guy from the Australian Support team told me that there was nothing wrong. I sent him the 2 pictures of the same chart, one from FOREX.COM and one from FXCM.
Here is a litle part of the conversation:
Timothy : It is not a chart glitch, it is just the way it is pixilated on occasion during a volatile market. If you open up the data window and run your mouse over the candles, you will notice the numbers are fluent between candles.
Me: can you explain why I don t have this "normal" situation with FXCM using a similar platform? both mt-4
Timothy : I could not speak to their charting software. Do you feel any numbers on the charts are incorrect?
Of course, the number where correct, that was not the point. How can we trade when the data does not show?
Other than that, many time, the candles won't align from one to the other. small gaps many time. But when it is the big gaps, it is alway when a big wiping move as been started. That seem to me a strange coincidence.
Of course, the would say, it s because of "hi-volatility" of because this news on tv.... It seem to me that they use those term to hide something. They use the perfect timing to make the moves. Like an illusionist who will try to attract your attention in one direction while is doing something else where you won t see.
Other small issue with their platform. If you checked the "open position at the same volume used the last time" normally, like in FXCM it should always used the same value. So if you open 0.05 volume last time, it should be already set for 0.05 the next time and already ready in the dialog box. That will work on FOREX.COM if you only open the same volume. For exemple if you open a 1.00 volume position then you want to slow down and stay with 0.05, so you change it in the box and it remain to 0.05. So let say you open 5 new positions they will all be 0.05. But if you then close the 1.00 position, it will then switch to 1.00. So if you move quick to open new position and you expect it to be at 0.05 and you don t look, now your position will be 1.00. That make you open larger position that might case margin trouble or you will close those new position right away, at loosing price.
