Which is something we have yet to have seen today. It is a possibility, Yet something which isn't very likly to happen. Not to mention with the arbitrage form of wagering, you increase your lot size with every losing position. So if your first positions is 1% and you lose 6 points you would not of lost even .5% of your account value. Your odds of your winning position closing in profit INCREASES with every loss you experience.

I think its incredibly likely to happen. For every proper move the market makes it performs about 50 wiggles specifically designed to f**k over trades like this. The only way to escape this is to use a larger SL which then means when one finally does get hit it blows your profts from all your other successful scalps. Then take into account that the spread on these tiny trades is a huge % of your profit margin and long term your on a def loser.

You're talking about martingales by the sound of it. Great until you hit a losing streak (which is inevitable sooner or later - take a look at the balance graphs for all the forex robots that employ this strategy! Nice straight line up until kaboom account blown) and blow your entire scalping profits for the year! Quickest way to end up like Nick Leeson.

I strongly believe that there are very, very few manual scalpers out there who actually consistently make money (e.g. over years).

With long term trades the spread is negligible compared to your profit margin and you don't have to worry about volatility stopping you out constantly.

What I dislike about your comment is the following. Your simply highlighting the negative. Here are a few things which you've mentioned which are incorrect.

1) THE SPREAD is a huge part of the % profit which you earn.

Answer. That is true ONLY if your using 2000:1 leverage and 100% equity. If a trader was to use 400:1 leverage with a position of 1% of their entire account. It would take a 23 point loss (assuming your spread is two points in order to lose 1% of your total account) Which in turn would mean your spread of 2 points is less then .2% of your entire account. If your a scalper, using the method which I have mentioned. Your not aiming for 2 point profit. Your aiming for the breakout which the market will more then likely give us.

Say eur.usd has a daily range of 50 points. All that is telling you is the highest high and lowest low of that session was 50 points. Yet in a 50 point range, a scalper can earn on avg 4times the range. In points alone. If they increase their lot size with every loss, the win will clearly cover the loss by a margin which an INVESTOR will NEVER be able to earn in years.

I would be more then happy enough to post my transaction to reveal to you that it does indeed work. And while your pessimistic view of "EVENTUALLY being stopped out or margin called" seems to be that of a blight. The reality is earning profit is what we all try to do here. Not sit and predict what tomorrow will bring. That is why you decide to invest, because your narrow minded view of a chart won't allow you to see price action for what it is.

I don't understand how one could even think about the spread as being a factor in them taking a position or not. If your entry is accurate enough 6 points is more then enough.

I see what you mean but looking at SG posts the language use is different although the subject matter and intensity seem very alike

still no harm being done - lets see how long the porn star lasts

edit: and I quite liked SG anyway
