Yes I have a tendency to jump the gun on trades when I spot certain things like rejection of S/R or Divergence, I am sorry if I confuse some of the newer traders. Genesis is just a weapon in my arsenal! If you look at the frankfurt open trade you will see some great bearish divergence with a failed run at dp.

I think it would be to the benefit of everyone here, new and old, if trades posted followed the Genesis principle guidelines as given on the first page of the thread.

Once we start posting trades taken on differing strategies it will only serve to alter the whole essence of what the thread was set up to achieve.

There is no difference in my eyes from using non genesis indicators or taking market entries from other points of view and as we all know, non genesis indi's are not allowed!

Do we not agree?

I do take trades using the genesis entry but many times genesis just confirms my reasons for taking a trade! I am not using any other indicators, I simply trade PA, Divergence, and Genesis. If it is confusing to people I will stop posting my trades, This thread is for advanced traders though.

Yes we agree and the 'team members' are talking about this right now. Olivia posted a method of showing your trades on a 'Genesis Template' that you can screenshot and post, if you are perhaps using something on your charts that isn't part of Genesis. We will highlight that post soon and refer people to it.

Having said that, you're quite right, we must stick to posting Genesis trades please......nothing else because as Gumrai says, they will add confusion to the thread and that is not what we want. I'm pretty tough on kicking people out who (for whatever reason) try to steer the thread in a different direction and I need to be even handed here. I don't want to kick anyone out......if we all row the boat the same way, we will progress and newbies will learn. Okay?

As an aside, I too take trades that are not part of Genesis because I'm testing something out.....I don't post or even mention those trades because they aren't Genesis trades. Best to keep them off the thread and just promote the system by posting system trades

Bearish divergence on M15 + M15 Stox having just turned from OB did not make this a HPT for the Longs on the M5 chart (despite M5 having got 4x white dots during that fake break up to the upside). Also during the previous 2 hours (and earlier in the Asian session), PA pretty much went across the DP a lot of times (on M5) and that does not indicate that this particular line will be respected (as it had been violated many times already).

Edit 2 (2nd chart): as per Jandre's post, although he might have jumped the gun for whatever reason(s), the M5 short trade that developped 25 minutes later (blue line) was still a better HPT than the previous 'fake' long trade as both M5 & M15 Stox are now in agreement and we also have a M5 bearish divergence (on top of the already established M15 bearish divergence)

I was not implying that you were using any other indi's Jandre, sorry if I gave you that impression.

I just felt that we could quite easily slide from the genesis path if we do not stick to the guidelines as laid out by RJ and the team and that would defeat the object of the thread.

Well it's certainly knocking on the door of 2700 quite persistently, but it can't crack it yet. It also hasn't reversed which might mean that the pressure is going to keep on 2700 until it breaks. I wonder if any Euro news will come out of their current meeting to provide the push......if not.....perhaps it will have to wait until tomorrow seeing as we have no USA session......hmmmmm......

In my opinion, it can be very tricky to trade because USA and Canada are out of the game and the Euro meetings are taking place. So it's possible that a news announcement of no great importance could come out of the meeting, and cause the market to spike either way.......It's okay to trade if you set small targets and you keep you SL tight, but I think I'm not going to take part any more today.....it's a bit dangerous.

Slow day indeed. But I got 18 pips from GBPUSD:

And lost 8 pips in a dumb trade on USDCHF. First, I somehow forgot that USDCHF is pretty much EURUSD upside down, and that we had been talking about the massive support under EURUSD 1.2700, which equates to massive resistance on USDCHF. And, almost as a side note, the M15 stoch wasn't coming from OS. But (he says to defend himself) there was M5 bullish divergence:

These aren't set-in-stone rules but...:

.+ the M15 Stox was at best flat if not still falling then (definitely no agreement between M5 & M15 Stox).
.+ Genesis likes a SL below the recent lows (9467 - below DP - 20+pips) but maybe that was too far for your MM?

My money management is always a fixed risk per trade, and I use the incomparable VO-Pro tool for this (Free plug for hanover's awesome tool: check it out at http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=280437)

So currently (on demo) I'm risking 1% per trade, and by dragging the order lines, the lot size gets adjusted automatically. For this trade, the red x marks the original SL (12.pips). I closed it "early" at 8.2 pips. If I recall, strict Genesis recommends +5 pips beyond nearby lows, which would make this at 25 pips. I'm finding it hard to get decent R:R with that kind of SL. So I am picking nearer lows, and using a "If price goes beyond here, I'm wrong".

Still learning, and on demo, though.

Is the meetings are only today or it continu or many day?
