no i mean take the beginning point to the second point split in half or whatever ratio you desire and begin projection fork from that ratio at or wherever bar in time from that ratio point

I'm still failing to see exactly what you did. Are you moving only the beginning pivot or multiple pivots? What direction are you moving it (them)?

How about a before and after image?
