Tim Morge did a webinar on how to use pitchforks. I have found that they are a great predictor of support and resistance.....when you get the right points to start them with. MT4 has a good pitchfork tool. Basicaly it is channel trading. Buy at the bottom (support) and sell at the top (resistance).

Hi Norbecker,

you got a link for us? I don't see any.

I've been messing around with pitchforks, and am sometimes amazed by it.

Thanx

It has been a while since I was on his website, but Tim used to have some very good instruction on his live trades at medianline.com There is also a discussion group that was active for a time. You can get the link from the above url.

I have been charting some pitchforks on MT and it looks real good when combined with price action analysis it is almost dead-on the spot if the trend will break or will continue...may post a chart or two when I get some more time if anyone is interested...definitely a great tool

James16 I could never get the cycle lines or fib cycles to line up to make sense to me. Even looking at your chart it still does not click.....maybe I just need more chart time or something.

Tim Morge mentions that the Schiff forks work better for forex. To get the Schiff forks in MT just draw the standard fork and then move the A pivot so the median line is perpendicular to a B-C trendline.

A lot of good info here: www.trading-naked.com/AndrewsPitchfork.htm

Attached is a word doc of web pages by Tim Morge on using the forks.

Yen daily chart with price right at Schiff median line, VWB 144 fib level and it is also the 50% fib level from the 121.38 high - 113.41 low. Good place to look for a short.

I've only listened to a little bit of one show, so I can't comment on the quality or how it compares to Morges' stuff, but someone named Michael Mansfield has done some presentations on pitchforks/Schiff here:

http://www.robindayne.com/archives.html

You have to scroll down and find his shows in Sept. 2005. There are also pictures that accompany the audio files.

There are some other good guests on the show as well, though they don't talk about pitchforks. Clay Marafiotte specializes in FX and I thought he was very informative. I also like Stephen Bigalow (candlestick guru) and John Person.
