Well I have been testing Symphonie for 1 week on 1H TF and I will say that it is far less headaches than trading on the 15 m TF. Here are my results.

The trades with no comments, I exited purely based on Symphonie exit signals. The other exits were based on me going to bed or being away from the compyuter for a long time. I would set SL and TP based on S R levels and pivots. This worked out well!

All entries were based solely on Symphonie signals.

you wait for a confirmation signal on the second candle or do you enter directly on your first signal ? you know we can repaint after the first signal(most times it will change emotion or sentiment)

Symphonie is a great overall strategy but be careful with the backtesting: it is meaningless because a lot of the indicators repaint (they will change back their colours many candles in the past to make themselves 'look' better). When you backtest and an indicator always seems to pick all the tops/bottoms, sometimes even before the market has turned, the trained eye will recognise a re-painting indicator.

As a rule of thumb

When I get a 1st confirmation on Symphonie I wait for the second candle to close with a confirmation. Then I enter.

BUT

It all depends on the price action and the current support and resistance levels. If Symphonie gives a signal and the traded pair is close to a support or resistance zone, I will wait until the candle closes on the other side of that zone.

If the candles are big and the SR levels are far away, I may enter at the start of the second candle.


One thing is for sure, I always wait for the first candle to close completely. Now that I know what Symphonie is doing, the repaint issue is no big deal. Evaluator put it best when he said to just take the signal as it comes and as it is.

hey guys i found another dashboard last thursday, and i've been testing it. it uses ALOT of different indicators. the best thing about it is that you can add your own indicators.. and it gives you signals when ALL the indicators line up. pretty cool addition to your charts. better than the last one i posted.

EURUSD price aktion is now test the top of the downtrend channel that is from 16 Okt. If there is a break and close above the downtrend channel top then look to but EURUSD on dips as the price aktion will then point to a change in direktion and rise in EURUSD.

However, becareful because a false break will drop back through the resistance turned support line and it will create failure of support and the EURUSD could drop as low as 1.2800 to 1.27500 before next meaningfull support level.

(in other words....keep your stoploss tight)

A hourly close above 1.29600 with a Symphonie Buy Signal combined with a downtrend channel break would confirm to me that price aktion has change direktion and should be on the rise for EURUSD.

I've found this while busy trying to sponge up as much information I can before starting real trading.

I personally found it quite interesting and who knows if it is still relevant (As I see the date is around 2007), then maybe it could be nice to have this incorporated into an indi, because I know there's plenty of very clever ppl on this thread, and also having something like this could really just give you that "one better" of a real-time edge.

I'd really like to know what you more experienced traders think about this and or if there's a more recent version of this, or does this normally stay static?

BTW, Eval thanx again for starting this. U the man!
