EA is a big loser using Strategy tester.
Ignored
Ok. Did you check if it opens the trades according to the rules ? As in visual backtest with the system template loaded to make sure it only trades as it should ?

For ex. I can now think of the eventuality in which xpma changes colors so fast a trade in the wrong direction is allowed. Attaching fix below. Still somebody please check it trades by the rules.

PS: I hope you tested it on M15 as the rules say, otherwise I imagine a bigger TP would be appropriate.

EDIT: Also it looks like it could have opened more than one order at a time- that tends to be really bad- opening a million orders at once. Fixed.

Hi cubbybgood

if you make from 20 K to 38 K that return is 90 % on your account, not just 49 %, 49 % from 20000 is 9800 $, so is your account 29800 $ or 38000 $, My understanding of return is 100 % is when you double your account.

Correct me if i'm wrong

Thanks and i like this system.

Hi everyone,

I'm back! This will be my last thread on FF.

I've recently stumbled across the creation of this system. I want to share this because I think my system could help many traders. It's really easy to trade with. You can modify it to your needs but not to much. I'm having success with this system. I feel that it doesn't make any sense to mess with something that's working. I only take the best trades. That means maybe some days I don't even take trade at all! Dont' be irresponsible! Take only good trades!

Sorry to say this. Please dont rush to give the EA. Take your own time.
Once you are done with the EA, please follow the steps below.

1. Open the chart.
2. Load the EA.
3. Open strategy tester.
4. Give date range of last 1 month.
5. Check the visual mode.
6. Start testing.
7. Once the testing is done, you will have a chart with the trades opened which will be indicated with green and red arrows.
8. Open another chart with same time frame. Load the template in that chart. Now compare both charts whether the trades opened are sync with the entry criteria mentioned.
9. Even 1 trade doesn't match then something is wrong with your code.
10. Go back and review the code and follow the same steps again.

These are basic testing techniques for the EA development.
No one have asked for the EA. You are willing to contribute something. Please do it professionally.
Software development is a professional job. Do it like that.
I know that you are new to both software development and EA development.
Please don’t take this as a criticism. Take this as advice.
Its not how good your logic is. Its all about how good your output is.
Logic is important but the quality is much more important.

Thanks
Ananth

I never like the idea of EA, because It always ruin the threads, can you just keep it simple and do the work, watch the charts and learn the method and how the currencies are breathing, you need experience from screen time to learn read the charts don't rely on EA.

Please don't ruin the thread with EA's

I beg to differ.
Creating an EA for any trading method is simply the scientific approach to the problem. The EA is the easiest (and cheapest) way of proving or disproving the edge of the system. It could also highlight critical problems, which are not mentioned or even know by its author. Imagine that the author trades exactly per his rules, but on a specific session. He doesn't even think of that, as it is his normal daily routine, but it turns out the system only works for that specific session. On top of that, EAs provide the most reliable and efficient way to trade a system, simply because nobody could possibly monitor the markets 24/7.

The above doesn't refer directly to the system discussed in this thread but to a trading method in general. Also the examples given are not directed at this system or its author. Sorry about the offtopic but I felt some clarifications on EAs were in order.

Here is a another trade I took yesterday on GBPJPY. Was good for 117 profit pips!

Cubbybgood, I have a question about the GBP/JPY trade. By the time MACD crosses the zero level, the price had already made a low and failed to break it in the next few candles. Have you considered to move the stop-loss for the position just under that low and let it run for more?

Let me tell you this: A strategy coded into an EA is the strongest approach you can ever make to trade the markets.

I know why you are concerned: in most cases, the backtest reveals that the strategy does not work. Then comes the hard part. You have to find out why it does not work. And then you have to fix this, e.g. add a filter to avoid losing trades. This takes a lot of time. However, when you succeed, you have a proven strategy which you can trade with confidence.

Trading is hard. This is a truth which most people do not accept. The EA shows you that it is hard. In order to be successful, you have to accept that trading is hard and that you have to get through it.

The worst thing you can do is fool yourself by saying "trading is easy" and place trades according to some strategy which is not proven. Do your homework first!

Bro I understand that, but I personally do not prefer the EA's and you are right for execution of rules EA is best and flawless, due to fact it's not human to think twice before execution, but my experience is with system's that they are discretionary, specific sessions, specific pair to trade, different profit taking etc.
My personal opinion is that if you adjust system to your own way and make analysis and adjustment can perform better than being programmed.
That's how I think, i'm not pushing that to others, just making statement.

I get the point, my observation is for the threads, if the EA show that the edge is not that good as the author said, people start bullshitting and don't try to learn and suit that system to their needs and way of trading.

And I thought making this EA was gonna be easy... Those xpma and HA indis are horrible.

Anyway managed to fix everything and tested it too since nobody else reported back. here's what I hope is the final version.

Mind you- I only tested for functionality. I didnt do a lenghty backtest and see profit. Perhaps somebody else can do that for a change and post the results ?

I don't want to annoy you, but I never heard of a trader who became successful by doing this. All successful traders I heard of had specific strategies they developed by their own research before they started to trade.

Try a google search for "MQL tutorial" or "Metatrader tutorial".

Yes, you entered this trade correctly. If I would have taken this trade I would have lost about 16 pips.

Don't let this get you down. Losses happen. I have not tested this system on a 5 digit broker. If this is what you're using I'm not sure about results...
