idea would be to minimize number of shorts taking large profits after price falls... back into channel

hey! that's exactly my longer term view.

the lower tl of the channel beginning in July is where i think price will fall to before it heads up again.

if it does that tomorrow, then it will just dip under 2900 before shooting back up to maybe 3200.

(ps: the 5 min chart is my trickster view... ps: ps: your line slopes upward more than mine does --- imo, you cannot draw accurate trendlines unless you first reduce your timeframe to a small fraction of your trend channel --- error enters where the center of each candle on a higher timeframe may be significantly displaced from the actual hi or low spike position)

I've been losing for almost 4 years so you probably don't want to hear anything from me. But, we're already in a consolidation phase as you can see in the chart. With the Parabolic SAR, you'd have a sell signal already.

I'm kind of wondering though whether some Greek politicians will quit ahead of the vote on the austerity measures then Greece will run out of money on November 16, 2012 and exit the Eurozone to get some cash from investors.

you are right with your ps notes. however i have to see at least a few months development in my chart to get better idea. that is probably i trade intraday. 5 m TF is optimal for scalping but not for identifying direction of longer trend.

yea watching @ 80 if it break 80.20 good level to short au & aj , aj left over from yesterday 9 pip short of it's tp

edit Nikkie also about to test 9k

i agree about the ident of longer trends, but before i turn in for the day, i wanted add something:

i notice that traders who are good at using candles (i'm not one of them yet) often don't like using trendlines at all and i think that's because you really do have to compress the MT4 display all the way down with zoom-out button till candles turn into little lines ... if you don't, you will never get a clear match up with the tl... tl's won't work for you.

i guess you see that, but i think a lot of trader don't

yup, i watching kiwi closely, last time we here she pierced twice 18th oct h4 before bears got on top, watching geppy if 128 20 goes I may jump ship

anything may happen and market is unpredictable. i am not in a position of predicting price, however i would always prefer to go with higher probability trade. and my stake is long unless resistance is rejected once more, if it does, i am out of eurusd.
i do not use indys, do not trust them and do not understand them. not interested in fundys and news. i cme to one decision: trust only your eyes; only trust what you see. definitely there are many traders short in this pair, and if i am wrong, will bite the bullet and wont regret.

definitely, zooming out lower TF gives you more detailed picture. i use mostly 4H TF for that purpose. it is always useful comparing higher and lower TFs.
also you often hear from professional traders that most important thing is horizontal S&R lines, TLs are not important. with all respect to them, i will disagree, TLs are important at least as S&R. again trust what you see.

Its hard to say what will happen. But I think your lines is not drawn correctly. I am still looking for a short when it has breached yesterdays high.

But its confusing anyway. Might just stay off trading today.
