i have the euro going down to roughly 2860 based on a rising trendline (daily).

anybody have any other opinions ?

i ask because i currently hold a short position which may cloud my judgement.

I have it going down to 2760, but I'm also short the Euro so my judgement may likewise be clouded.
Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it

Actually we bounced of that trendline today already.. I see 2885 as second intermediate stop (futher I see quite important levels every 20 pips till 2800)

2750 is the medium term target, yeah, and ultimately 2450 which is also the projection of this currently developing double top pattern. Attached is a daily chart


PS. as with always, longer term chart need the support from fundamentals...otherwise it's all just a visually designed theory.

Now I've got 1.2840 from the first vertical count and 1.2890 from a horizontal one. The second vertical count yields 1.271.

thanks for the input everybody, good to get some other views besides just listening to the voices in my head

sorry che g, not too familiar with your chart style.

hopefully someone on here much wiser than myself, in other words everyone, will be able to give some feedback.

I agree with that, the only one before that worth mentioning is 1.2910 area where the trend line starting from the years low rises to (Two yellow trend lines)

DXY has been stuck in a range, I wonder if this upcoming FOMC statement will have enough weight to break it out (might be a little too much to ask )

times like these confuse me a little, so I'm curious to hear others point of view

USD is gaining strength*, and usually this results in weakening of EUR

however, the strength in USD also seems to indicate a movement towards more risk assets, so EUR could strengthen

how should one best weight each variable appropriately?

You need to get the underlined correct. usd strength does not indicate a movement into risky assets. It could, but not in today's economic environment.

okay thanks, i wasn't sure of that particular correlation, so would a move towards riskier assets stem mainly from a more global sentiment of improving economies

Why is E/U bullish suddenly? The Euro got hammered this morning and the FOMC statement seamed reasonably optimistic.

don't chase every pip. The current movement between today's high and low are pretty much random because there's little to no incentive for traders to place a trade AT CURRENT PRICE. Plus it's day's end.

Incentives build when either the high or low (or the nearest trendline) is broken. See attached chart.

Right now, higher high is in place so those blue retangles become vulnerable. On the other hand when the up move fails to gain strength then the nearest trendline becomes important to constitute into a failed higher high movement.

Which way it'll play out ? I don't know. Noone knows AT THIS POINT. Even god doesn't. (And market makers desperately look for order clues).
