I think the question still has validity

There is an EA called Million Dollar Pips which takes reverse positions near the top of spikes, but it needs quick movements of over 20 pips to start up.

At the last half of 2011 when it was doing well, the bot was trading most days.

Now I think it goes weeks without coming into action.

i don't know if the code wil post right but I look at your code and there is both buy and sell. Probably something is wrong with the sell part of your code (but it could be in other places too). Anyway people will get mad if we keep posting about this in EU trading thread so PM me. But this is where I would look:

buy/sell is not in that piece of code.. that only deals with setting the sl/tp.. ContinueOpening is a boolean variable..

ah, ok.. I see you edited... yes OrderSend is the guilty party..but that is correct also... OrderSend must be part of some other logic that you didn't post.. OrderSend is correct for the sell part of things.

I would think the price will pop up and everyone will blindly buy. Then market maker will drive price down and take out the stops and continue messing with you until the news from US. after that prob down move as looks like accumulation of sell orders by market maker happening.

Two common issues with order processing on MT...

1) check that the broker allows you to set SL & TP at same time as placing - alo t of the brokers no longer do as they offer ECN/STP processing which will cause the order to fail - they have to be set after the order is open

2) make sure that you are formating the lot size, SL & TP otherwise you are at risk of a incorrect digit failing to order send

If these things are not the case expend time looking at the code

I don't think attila. i think this was pure stop loss hunting move. the move which happened the other day was hunting of fibonacci retracements.
