I can see that as candle period is raised to 5 minutes or higher, what you are saying actually becomes plausible. The world looks very different down at the 5 second candle level than it does above: trend lines work WAY better, and other detail becomes visible.
What is your minimum candle time frame (and what charting package are you using, if I may ask?).Ignored

Actually I don't look at a single candle or candle formations. I condense the candle chart so much that it almost becomes a line chart. This I do to see the trend. When it starts forming a High or Low, I zoom in to see the candles in this zone.
4H and Daily for trends and 5M and 1H for candle closes.
I don't use any charting application, instead watch the quote panel for all major currencies and commodities. Mostly, not the charts but this quote panel first indicate what are key s/r levels. I move to charts after identifying...Ignored
