The way that equities have sold off today, my prediction is that asia will buy this and sell it for the rest of their session.

easy to shoot at Europe coz they are not organized. Yet the pb may be much bigger in other places; im talking about Japan, US.

EDIT : Spain around 70% debt to gdp, Italy 120%, US 103% and couting (quick).

haha, you may be kidding but you are absolutely correct. US enjoys a status that makes it not vulnerable to such problems. But sadly it may change.

Honestly, it will be the mess everywhere, EU stands at 86% debt to GDP ratio (with a GDP bit higher than US though), then China, though obscure will likely see debt grow a lot. The growth of past years is gone, stimulus at local governments have created huge debts, active population starts to shrink soon, add on top of that the 4-2-1 effect of population due to 1 child policy. You wont create growth out of elderly people. Just looking at Japan...

The east asian century, started in the 70s, ending up soon. Next relays for growth are Indonesia, India and Brazil.

The rest will be havens for elderly rich people driving Range Rovers

yes. If you count the unfunded liabilities and the debt at states level we're looking at 160 Trillion, not 15. This will not end well..

dont know. Either people cancels each others debt at some point, or you call central banks to digest it somehow. Not sure.

At that level, macroeconomics tend to be tricky... just hope we wont experience the german 20's...

I was reading somewhere, I posted a link some months ago.. the problem in the world is still the derivatives market. We're talking hundreds and hundreds of Trillions that sit on very shaky collateral.. These things will eventually blow up again and that will make this banking crisis look like a breeze.

well, fingers crossed things will find a nice ending.
i remember you are from east europe (hungary as per ur iD?), so we both know how bad a simple economic mess can transform into smthg way uglier.

All ingredients are adding so far. Luckily the world has come together a bit more. So lets be optimistic

no the problem is is that the 1% have an agenda and will use anyone including goverments, banks, natural resourses (commodities), to gain control of the people of the world. We all know the system is broken and how many times have we heard this horrible news and nothing is done! All you see is a change in trend or a few spikes long neck dojis and thats that and we all forget. Hey attila, I would like you to watch a few videos on youtube. First is called thrive the movement the video is 2 hours long and if you watch the whole thing about an hour in it goes over how banks are in control and not letting go. Second video is called The securitization food chain. That video talks about how securitizing mortgages and creating all these instruments, (remic's) and SPV's backfired on purpose.

The system isn't broken at all. It's working precisely as designed by that 1%. A plan that's been in place longer than the 50 years I've been alive.

But that's a whole nother story.
