Yes, forex is complicated, and if you just base everything on Astrology, you are apt to make a lot of bad trades. You have to rely more on trendlines and behaviour relative to trendlines to make a judgement, but at times it can give you a timing range (ie +1/-1 day) that a important low/high is about to occur.

Estimating this requires that you look at past data and gage it by your own senses on the chart.

Plotting past data is very time consuming and manual process, but on higher time frames it gives better results than on lower time frames.

Out of all my experiments with this concept, there are 2 times that are worthy to take a look at the market, and that is the New Moon and the Full Moon. They are easier to tell than other stuff

New Moon is 80% of the time a Sell on the EUR/USD. Full moon is a bit trickier and usually marks a market low in a uptrend, but in a downtrend it could be a temporary high.

If you only use moon cycles then you have to combine it with your indicators, and again plot data and see whether you can raise your odds on a better trade.

I mostly rely on my trendlines, but at times I use the moon cycles as possible signals too.

I am not very good at it, and have a lot to learn, so I dont use it as primary means of trading.

I have read about lunar and planetary cycle effects on stock markets and commodities, where it makes perfect sense. If you can predict floods, weather, etc you know that it will affect on prices. Doh, for some reason broke my new rule about not trading NY. Could lose todays profit if this spike down continues, definitely got to stay away. I'm profitable in London, hopeless in NY. Seems to me NY is just a stop hunting session with no decent moves unless some big news/data breaks

Thanks for the pointers. I have read some Ganns material and that got me into it.

I only trade NY now on "news days" OR when London is so slow (like today) that I have been on the sidelines.

What is interesting is how static NY is now. I recall that they would normally take the EUR to a new high (or maybe that was the last London move before the lads headed to the pub?)...and then NY would hammer the EUR for 50-100+ pips. Those days may be gone....for now.
