10pips/bar....all pairs. Maybe not the most optimal but it looks ok so far.

Hi All !

I was busy with the backtest and I bought the commercial script.
I tested my live results of the RB Renko V5 with the script in the backtest.

Here are my test results: live vs demo-backtest(with live hst)

Start 2 August 2012
End 24 August 2012

Trading Time 11-19

Other results please ignore.

The only problem with the test is that there is a fixed spread, but I have in the live account a variable spread. Otherwise, the trades are equal.

Criticism and suggestions are welcome !

Guys, please help. When attach the template, the information in the upper right corner is wrong and not refreshing. What's wrong?

some observations trading with renko , try to trade with the renko value for 30 m time period . you will get less whipsaw and clean signal .

Take trades which are along the trend . u may use 200 ema for this this way you will avoid the small losses

i find each of the forex trade takes time , it is not something you hit the trade button and u exit with profit in 5 mins. 95 % of the time u will have steady movements dn or up , but inbetween when you have news or event u have the quick movements.

if you play on the 30 m period u can easily hit 150 pips without any big risks.

use the MA renko EA plain without cci , it is cool . this can be put on the vps to run also , i am sure the result will be good.

camarilla , you can use for that quick entry and quick exit trades . specially the brkout ones, if any of the cam trade does not hit tgt after triggering then beware as it might reverse on u .

Lastly please read the forum before asking the same questions which have already been answered.

The other options would be number of open trades and EA to ask to confirm whether to close the trade or not especially after a restart. Please do add the fix to PC problems. Thanks.

u need to find it out using the 480 atr and 128 ema for your broker, it varies broker to broker.
Hello Seller9 this is checkmail and can you pull out few spare time to code mine renko EA based on two bar signal.The indicator problem is solved, have found such indicator which gives an arrow signal on second bar open and close(HI-LO).

Now the EA is required to call the indicator signals(arrows) from icustom function, also want added parameters like lot size, no of orders, tp, sl , trail stop in it.
The EA is also to function continuous in an loop, means up arrow buy, next down arrow should close buy and open an sell order and so on.

No filter required till forward tested this EA in live trading, as renko bars do manipulate a little.

If anyone have this kind of EA(2Bars/hi-lo) than share it here.

Running CAM Renko on 8 pairs using OOTB settings (apart from max no of trades)...

Usual analysis:

AUDCAD -23 pips
AUDUSD +30 pips
EURGBP -2 pips
EURJPY +34 pips
EURUSD +70 pips
GBPUSD +26 pips
USDCAD +75 pips
USDJPY +84 pips
Total +293 pips

43 Trades (22 Winners @ 841 pips and 21 Losers @ -548 pips)

Good first week for this one - haven't run any additional indicators for filtering - just let it do its thing...

Hi all,

No traditional update for this week as I'm trying something new and its not quite working yet...

I am taking the M1 data and then basing the Renko Bar size on the Daily ATR(14) value divided by 4.

For example:
EURUSD - Daily ATR(14) = 112. Divided by 4 (with rounding) = 25 pips for Renko
USDJPY - Daily ATR(14) = 44. Divided by 4 (with rounding) = 10 pips for Renko

On my usual 7 pairs, only 7 trades in total all week for a small net loss...

Some of the indicators aren't working correctly as a result of not enough history, so I'm going to let this one run for quite a while yet...

Results from this week were.....

EURUSD = +60 (3win, 2 loss, 1 open)
AUDUSD = +31 (3win, 1 loss, 1 open)
USDCAD = +19 (1 win)
AUDCHF = -13 (1win, 2 loss)

I had an issue with EURJPY this week. When I attached it to MT4 I did not notice that there was no text on the screen, though their was a smiley face for the first three days. After noticing that it was not running correctly I reloaded it and it looked ok. It only had one trade for a loss after that. When I ran the backtest to verify it matched up I saw it also missed two other trades that were loosers for the week (3 loosers no winners). I reran the backtest for EJ and found better conditions with lower DD(I am including these results). Since there is only about 2.5 months of history data for EJ I am not overly confident in the longer term results at this point.

If EU and AU keep performing well through next week I plan to take them live the following week.

I could not always get enough history for my demo accounts so I went over to my live account and did a download of M1 history and then exported it. I then imported this exported file into my demo account and now I have plenty of history for my demo account.

The data is also better on a real account.

after going thru camarilla values for more than a month , the values are perfectly ok , only we need implement one simple logic , that in case it fails to hit tgt then we should have our sl to cover our buy or sell price .

so brkout trades should hit the tgt mentioned else it will reverse so we put the tp at the tgt mentioned minus 2 pips and as the price moves we keep increasing our sl to cover our buy price and then we wait for it to hit the tp .

in case of a buy or sell that is h3 - l3 trade the price must hits the first tgt else the above mentioned logic should be applied.

now since each cam value is valid for that particular day , we should not take any cam trigger that happens 2 hrs before london close.

these are the minor tweaks that is needed rest is all fine with it .

OOTB is 'out-of-the-box' settings. The only thing I changed in the EA was the max no of trades to 8, for the 8 pairs I have open.

Renko range bar size is 5 pips.

Not such a good week so far - down £39.16 (can't tell no of pips from where I am).

Can someone tell me if the Renko EA's can be backtested?

I have not used Renko charts before on MT4, so have no idea about this.

I am going to try and get Renko working soon, so hopefully I can back and forward test soon
