thanks for your answer ... more clarity now for me, will switch to the "25 pips renko strategy" ... lets see - will it be work better for a longer time ?

EURJPY +28 pips
EURUSD -9 pips
GBPUSD -134 pips
USDCAD +6 pips
USDJPY +24 pips
Total -137 pips

85 Trades : 42 Winners @ 433 pips, 43 Losers @ -570 pips

I can't see any consistency across pairs over the last few weeks either - EURUSD and AUDUSD have previously been good, but not this week.

I'm going to try running RB_v9 on H4 timeframe with no Renko next week...

My results from this week are below. Overall a pretty good week despite the havoc of Thursday.

EURUSD (V7) = +58 (3 W, 3 L, 1 BE)
EURUSD (V8) = +62 (3 W, 3 L, 1 BE)
USDCAD (V7) = -30 (1 L)
AUDCHF (V8) = + 39 (4 W, 2 L, 3 BE)
AUDUSD (V8) = +139 (2 W, 1 L)
Total = +268 pips

For the last two weeks I have run back test vs forward test for the above pairs and they are still matching well. I know some of you are not having as much luck and I wonder if you are trying to run the same conditions on each pair. I run different set files for each pair. I tried one size fits all but it did not look very good in backtesting (though I run all pairs with 10pip/bar). As time allows I'll try and post my set files for the pairs I am currently running if there is interest.

Yes - of corse here is interest ! So plz post your setfiles - you have much better results !!!

I think you have quite different setfiles = Quite different results !

On the other hand I had a look on your earlier posts in this thread here - #1423 and #1426/7 - is it this you are doing for getting the above posted results ?

definitely interested. I have been using your EURUSD settings for the past couple of weeks and have been seeing results similar to yours. For this week, i saw the same quick whipsaw during the FOMC announcement Thursday, but it bounced back after that. So if you could post the audusd, and usdcad when you get a chance that would be great.

Grats! I will admit to trying to run 'one size fits all', but then I don't know how to test and optimise!

Any pointers or links to tutorials would be great!

Optimisation is very very very very very tedious. It takes days continuously & if u stop the process halfway, u will have to start all over again. I can’t find a “continue” function. My PC is consumer grade, not server grade, so I am worried my processor might not survive 24/5 running continuously. Now I manually test different combinations & permuatations one by one and key the results in an excel sheet. This way, I can continue from where I stop without having to run it 24 hours nonstop. Good luck!

There is interest, just some are lurking in the shadows your EUR/USD & AUD/USD results settings looks interesting, will probably test your E/U set file this week.

im testing with Renko v9 (London Hours Only) 5 pips box size

-EPU2 (futures) + EUR/USD + EUR/JPY (took E/J out will try on normal charts)

i also have AUD/USD running Renko charts with the Toolbox EA changing settings often tho, but i'll probably add NZD/USD to the mix.

you can see my trades by clicking on my username (disregard the OIL trades those we're manual)

Still like the results Athravan, since it shows we are testing all together with different setups, that's good teamwork, you are testing 24 hrs or London session only ? i recommend London session only and maybe JPY pairs Mid-Asian session with London Session only.

like i said in my previous post im using 5 pip box size but im thinking of probably testing higher 15-20 box size or i'll try lower 3-4 box size and see what happens and i'll play London hours only -1 hr after the Open and before the close to prevent fakeouts, also since it's JPY bank holiday on monday, i won't test tonight, so i will decide which settings to test by tomorrow

I am transitioning from V7 to V8 and including the setfiles I will be using. I do not expect much difference between V7 vs V8 but I do not want to fall too far behind on the versions. I included EU, AU, UC and AC. I feel pretty good about EU, AU and UC but I did not have as much history data for AC so time will tell. Give it a shot if you'd like and we can compare at the end of the week.

We can use the new coded crossover indicator for signals to code an Renko ea.

Found this in the indicator folder.
You should be able to find a ton of ma crossover indicators on the forums.

Hello Seller this is checkmail and thanks for your effort, as well as quick response but me too have plenty of such indicators.

Can you modify this 2MAcrossover indicator to use SQRT formula instead of MATHS ABS, yup there is an good difference in both MA lines and its calculations.

Me tried few times but am getting no start no end to insert the sqrt formula instead of maths abs.

I don't understand what you are looking for, you need to post more information.

Still testing RBV9 on EU, GU, EJ, AU with different setting after not so good results on default setting. Seemed to work better on EU, AU than EJ, GU.

Lot = 0.04
Slippage = 2
TP, SL, TS, BOSL = 30,0,10,5
Clean candle, Aggressive mode, Non Aggressive mode = true

Band = 28,0.2
no Semafor, no AO
CCI = 80,8

Partial Closure settings = true, true, 10, 0.02
BEJS = 15,1,1

Note -- see EJ with no SL??? Anyone can explain what happens there???

Hi Seller. Been following this thread a little here and there, new to coding but have jumped in with both feet (and have a few bots on the go, much work to do though). Been trading and designing methods for long time.

Anyway on this chart it looks like you are asking about an alternative to a TP, I would just suggest multiple exits, combined with the TS. Maybe at H3 25% exit, and TS of 30. H4 another 25% exit, TS adjusted to 25. H5 another 25% off the table and TS adjusted to 20. The balance left on the TS.

Just food for thought, of course on that particular trade, a simple renko bar (or two) closing under the MA was the best exit of all! (with no prior exits)

Well I'm not sure of the entry logic, and more importantly the exit rule if the trade is losing (MOST important rule imho), but it was clearly a not a good entry when that big spike appeared 19:31 and the bot should have punted to keep the loss smaller probably after 10 - 12 consistent bars in the wrong direction. (strong indication trend was not changing to down). Something I am doing for my own bot is putting in a BE SL after ___ pips, depending on TF maybe something to consider. This way some of the losses are taken right out of the picture. Not sure what to suggest for filter to entry without knowing current rules.

Slow going with 25 pip bars but seems to work well, will see what it looks like at the end of the week.
I have three trades open that are just kind of hanging around, one of them is below, from the looks of the candle formation and if this was live I would probably close it by hand.

The settings are on the right side of the chart.

Shown in Weekly Mode, it will run in any mode from M1 to W1.
Still getting all the little bugs out, so not quite ready for distribution yet.

Hello Seller9 this is checkmail and have found the indicator i was looking for, it was in mine HD.

Code an EA based on this crossover indicator "newind" , if want we could add one more MA line(80) from trend.mq4 as its Filter.

Am posting the indicator and EA functions in this post, the output would be same as we were looking for in first ea proposal "eatest1".
