Hourly Supports your view. 20 raff is parallal now, suggesting a sideways or ranging.

Draghi speech whatever will he say? What will be impact?
ff calendar: Due to speak at the annual event "Day of the German Industries" organized by the Federation of German Industries, in Berlin

Well the home crowd is not Southern Europe, so would think another irreversibility of the Euro pep talk etc. is in the cards.

We are getting support at 1.2900, Euro defenders do not want a break as it opens the trapdoor down.

Draghi must continue to talk up a storm to "encourage" bond purchases, if this gets sold into then the market is calling the ECB's hand. Verbal intervention would not be enough.

GM - Higher Lows on the hourly and lower TFs and yet price has so far been unable to even retrace 61% of this morning pre Frankfurt Open 67 pip drop and looking at the volumes there's a good ammount of accumulation taking place.

So I guess we'll have to wait for Signore Draghi to speak in four and a half hours time at 13:00 GMT.....

Good morning all,

Happy birthday to EurAnalysis, and thank you to PT for starting the thread.

Have spent nearly two days following the thread from beginning of July since I have been away for a while. Good to see the quality has stayed high.

2880 to 2900 area seems to be strong support and the market seems to be waiting for Super Mario this morning - wish I could go to a beach like PTs!!

Interesting competition from CM - who to vote for?? I'll give it some thought, lots of very good contributors here.

i totally agree on paper money being the best medium of exchange but i would use caution when implying that gold is a good store of value.

Yes, given modern monetary policy, gold IS a good store of value. We pursue inflation, we pursue artificially induced economic activity that is behind the desired stability. However, were Ron Paul to be the president of the U.S. or the chairman of the FED, you would immediately see, how crap the gold really is. Gold is nothing, it doesn't offer any fundamental value. You can't eat it, nor build anything with it. It's the HOPE that once we destroy our economy and monetary system with the policies we run today the gold is seen as the most likely medium of exchange due to its "favourable characteristics" only.

actually, price "hit" that proposed area last thursday where price reversed between the 23.6 fib and the previous untouched resistance turned support (see the blue circle on the attachment). After that we've made a lower low which gives even more incentives for traders to gun downward breakout. There's some serious interest in the 2885 level with stops being accumulated below every moment. All in all, IMO your proposed 23.6 is of no significance anymore.

is there any evidence that Draghi can step forward with something concrete today?

the split between the ECB and the Bundesbank over policy differences appears to be headed for a legality decision.

i think at this time all he has to offer is words, and that is not enough.

Once again - i don't consider highs and lows for fibs . calculate with h4 and above h8 close , will get the levels .

A bit off-piste, but EURUSD seems as sleepy as my cats.

Are we happy that the inverse H&S PT pointed out on UCAD's H4 is still valid?? Recent pa has been a bit slugggish, not untypical for this pair. Maybe this afternoon's news release may be the kick it needs to move up.

Interesting that there is a mirror image H&S on AUD's H4 chart....
