A 1 pip gain is better than a 1 pip loss.

The way it usually works (and you can confirm it by looking back at all the historical reversals) is that once the trend lines and MAs are broken on the daily charts, it corrects to retest the broken MAs. This is a standard bottoming process. So even if it is a full reversal, we should still get a correction to test the 1.2440/60 area before it starts its ascent to heaven.

Remember that the data we get tomorrow will be as at Tuesday's close and not tomorrow's close.

What was the price average before the announcement? I have average at today's POC at 1.2908, so it's only about 80 pips higher. No where near what I expected (200 pips) on QE3.

Not that I'm bear here, I'm just saying the move is rather muted.

Ah. Okay I haven't analyzed that yet. I have much to learn and more to go through.

Yes definitely. So, -95k sounds about right. That would bring us close to 30% long overall according to my indicator.
A 1 pip gain is better than a 1 pip loss.

Tom,
I will reflect on todays move more. That said, the one sector in the US that has been knocked down 80% from the pre crisis levels was housing.
Land and Housing is the real wealth of the middle class. A targeted move to get the Housing sector going again will do much to alleviate real pain in the economy for the average person.

The last QE's were heavily wasted, for instance steel bridges needed in California were purchased and constructed in China (Pelosi's district) then assembled in the States. What B.S.

After WW 2 the US had things like the G.I. bill which provided housing for returning Vets and jump started real people on their way forward in life.

I am not opposed to all Government involvement, just the ones that are absolutely senseless.

This move is not a shotgun approach in the hopes that something will work. It is a move that can help a sector that was slammed the most by derivative manufacturer and financial mismanagement.

Housing always lead the US recovery. the lack of construction and housing availability hindered this one. It is also a good psychological boost to moral if a real physical event takes place, a home gets built. People see something happening, that will make a difference.

Europe still remains in the dregs and the scars will take many years to recover from.

The market can hate the USD all it wants, but America is still here.

It had its lows near 1.282 yesterday where I mistakenly shorted on my hedge account. Which I seriously hate myself for right now.

Mmmm Salmon. Had some yesterday and left overs for lunch today.
I wish I could get my hands on some nice rainbow trout. Not available in Malta unfortunately. All we get is Norwegian Salmon. However, we do get many other species that aren't available in Canada. Sea Bream is one of my favorites here.

Agreed it was well targeted. However, right now it's only going to help the banks unload their toxic assets. It will take a positive move by congress to boost consumer confidence.
